  1. And Gallagher says Dean was wrong as VAR last week too https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12206382/ref-watch-southampton-should-have-been-awarded-a-penalty-against-aston-villa-says-dermot-gallagher
  2. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12207425/ref-watch-david-luiz-was-right-to-be-sent-off-but-mike-dean-got-it-wrong-at-old-trafford-says-dermot-gallagher
  3. But the ManUre guy's boot next to his hand is playing him on!!
  4. King to Everton now. Obviously did not want to join us
  5. King to Fulham now? Why there not Saints then?
  6. I watched the penalty in slow motion for 20 sec's and you can see Son on his way down before he gets to Gunn, and Gunn does not even touch him. So how does VAR not pick that up in 2 min's??
  7. Apparently Liverpool fans reckon he is terrible too
  8. So now we need TWO right backs!
  9. Yep I am staying in Edinburgh so away games my only option really, and now I can't go
  10. Anyone got couple of tix for sale? Over from Aus and been waiting for general sale but sold out before :-(
  11. Think we need to go back TO 5-3-2 - extra central defender, and gives Bertrand more freedom to overlap - the current setup means he never gets to go forward. But our main issue is that if we do ever break from defence, we get to halfway then immediately stop, come back and start knocking it about in defence again, giving the opposition time to set up their defence. If we break, we need to drive forward, ok it won't work all the time, but look at Son's goal last week against Burnley, it can work sometimes.
  12. Not with black short surely? Maybe the white ones?
  13. What happened to our high pressing game which did us so well in early Ralph days? Instead we park the bus and hope for a miracle
  14. Absolutely crazy. Overall this farce took EIGHT minutes, and the ref only added FOUR extra mins too! It will ruin the game, next EPL season is going to be SO frustrating (especially if you play ManUre, Liverhampton, etc!!)
  15. Can't agree with that, still takes half an hour to make a bad decision in A-League. Sick of goals being celebrated, everyone goes back to halfway for the kickoff, THEN the ref indicates VAR looking. Has to be immediate and decision made within (say) 30 seconds or ref's decision stands.
  16. And so it came to pass...........
  17. He was woeful - not required again sorry.
  18. No it didn't, it still took too long. The first time I saw it trialled many years ago, it was almost instantaneous - the guy watching video immediately told ref he was checking, and it was resolved quickly. If it is not sorted within 30 seconds it is obviously too close to cal land should revert to ref's call.
  19. VAR makes it WORSE. Watch any Serie A or Bundesliga game and players are appealing for VAR every time there is a goal scored or penalty given/not given, and in slow motion a slight nudge can be given as a penalty, whereas in realtime it is just part of the game. Takes much too long as well, if used it should be ongoing not wait for a break in play. Recently Fiorentina appealed for a penalty, not given, play goes on for a bout 5 minutes and eventually opposition score - VAR brought in and goal wiped out and go back for the penalty!! Rubbish. Equalising goal scored in 102nd minute, all cos of VAR. Also penalties are given for ridiculous things like ball being blasted at a defender from 2 metres and hitting his chest then brushing the arm, with the attacker not even appealing.
  20. Leipzig of course.... fingers :-)
  21. Bundesliga good to watch, and Leipzig looked great under him. And he gets excited like Klopp, which I like to see in a manager. He only left Leipzog because they would not give him a long term contract.
  22. Praising the 26-year-old, Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “It is a very strange feeling saying goodbye to Danny. The biggest emotion is how much we will miss him. “He is such an outstanding boy. Honestly, if you could bottle character and spirit, his would sell worldwide - he is so incredibly positive and full of energy. But we won’t just miss his character because he is a footballer who has all the tools. “What is clear is that in his time here he had zero luck really, certainly in my time. Before joining I tried to watch as many games on tape as I could from the season so far and Danny Ings stood out as someone I was really looking forward to coaching. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp “We all know his story and the bad luck he has had since then. “It’s why the other emotion is that of being pleased for Danny that he has such a good move and his future is now very bright." He added: “So we say farewell to a friend, but for Danny I know the best chapters in his personal story are still to be written. He is as fit now as at any point of his career I would bet and he just requires the opportunity. “He has that opportunity and on behalf of his Liverpool family we say good luck Danny and we will miss you.”
  23. Michael Oliver referee - predictable and best we could ask for
