I think MOTD is ok with us. But there is definitely something going on with the BBC weather map that highlights Portsmouth.
-
Well it would on me. But really to make it more like the Keegan era and less like something that Andy Murray (also supplied by UA) would wear
-
I think the centre panel needs to be narrower

Although Sheffield United have used white socks quite a lot in their history so its not much of a way of distinguishing us from them http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Sheffield_United/Sheffield_United.htm White socks seem to be a Lawrie thing as he converted Sunderland to them
-
Selhurst Park is also a disaster waiting to happen while for all Manchester United's money the away section is far less safe than the rest of the stadium due to the very narrow gangways.

My only disappointment from the game is that after the final whistle our players didn't line up for a team photograph on their pitch like Villa did at the Dell in 98

Question Regarding Family Stand - ST Holders with kids
Kenilworthy replied to JonnyLove's topic in The Saints
They never check going through the turnstiles that you are in a group - sometimes my sons go in ahead of me. I have been in the Family stand since 2005 and been to lots of evening games on my own. You can upgrade a junior ticket to an adult - as long as you still have at least one junior with you - have done lots of times when one of my sons hasn't been able to come. -
Saw the two Ronnies live at the Gaumont/Mayflower in December 78 - absolutely brilliant

First choice would be AVB - still has a lot to prove in England. Or how about Hiddink?

The stupid thing is that as recently as 2002 you could stand on terraces to watch a game at Craven Cottage as they were given time to make the transition to all seater. About that time there was a supporters forum at St Mary's to which Rupert had invited a representative from the relevant safety authority. I asked him if I had been at risk when standing on the terrace at Fulham. He replied no of course not. To which I then asked why is it impossible to reintroduce terracing since your own opinion is clearly that it is safe. His only answer was 'because all seater stadiums are the law'. And that is the simple mindiness that we are stuck with. A stupidity that still believes everyone is sitting down when the evidence is clear to see. A stupidity that will not legally allow clubs to designate parts of their stand as standing and seating, even though that is the de-facto case and some clubs such as Sheffield Wednesday are explicit in telling away fans that if you want to sit go to the front of the stand and if you want to stand go to the back - an entirely sensible measure but not actually legal.
-
Maybe the cap on away tickets at £30 will give a push for safe standing. There would be a big advantage to clubs to get 50% more people in the away section to offset the loss on not being able to charge for more tickets for away fans. And if we can have safe standing then perhaps at last those who do want to sit at away games, especially the young and elderly, will be able to. Because at the moment there is often no choice but to stand in your seat.

Dennis Bergkamp, in home game early 97-98. Elbowed one of our players (maybe Dodd) so hard he was physically lifted off his feet. The wonderful David Ellerary saw it only as a yellow card. Bergkamp then went on to score twice.

Ian Wright, for many offences such as poking Ken Monkou in the eyes. But mainly for last game of 91-92 season when he needed a hat-trick to be top scorer in the division and the referee (David Phlliips) allowed Tony Adams to assault Shearer and Matty and denied us a couple of clear penalties while ensuring Arsenal won 5-1 in possibly the most ridiculously refereed game I have ever seen.

I was at the Combination Cup Final in 1969 I think when we beat West Ham over two legs
-
Yes. I saw it at the cinema. Awful film, also starring Paul Nicholas and Adam Faith. The reason for going to see it was that it was the only way at the time to see footage of the League Cup final. The fictional team was I believe Windsor Saints - hey never actually used footage form the Dell. And the opponents in the cup final were Leicester Forest. But they showed the second half of the real game first, and the first half second. It ended (spoiler alert) with the Ian McShane character scoring teh winner with a lst minute penalty.

As a radical suggestion, why not make January FA Cup month, with rounds 3 to 5 being the only games played by Premier League teams in the month. That will really put the focus on the cup while still allowing replays. The big teams will also get a sort of winter break with only 3 games to play (as long as they win their tie first time round)
-
the introduction of penalties was a dreadful idea. It just made it possible for teams to progress without actually having to try winning. And how many times did ties really go to a second replay? Every change made to the FA Cup has diminished it.

We had seven cleansheets in a row from January to March 2001 under Hoddle. I think they were all with Paul Jones in goal.

Yes that's a very good call. I couldn't remember the goal for Derby against us even though I was there. A great example of a rubbish player who was deadly against Saints. Signed by Norwich to keep them up = relegation, Signed by Barnsley to keep them up = relegation, Signed by Blackburn to keep them up = relegation, Signed by Bradford to keep them up = relegation - nearly as much of a Jonah as Dean Saunders.
-
Yes in the first minute of the game in 94/95 that Grobelaar didn't throw as we won 3-1 Seems scoring for three clubs against us is not that unknown. But as was said earlier, Austin did it in three divisions, which no one else has done. Now we need to find a player that has done it for four clubs.

Not being selected by Pulis is a very positive endorsement of a footballer

SRL apparently available. Could possibly do a short term job as an attacking midfield player as he can pass the ball better than anyone currently in the side. Would also make us more dangerous with free-kicks.

Clattenburg awarded Norwich one of the worst penalties ever against us in 2013
