  1. Given that every moment of the game is covered by the cameras I assume we will soon see the photographic evidence to backup the allegations made by the haircut on legs.
  2. You would think that Newcastle would be obliged to play a catchup game on January 29. But they are off for a two week training camp in Saudi
  3. Hard to say. At Palace the check was cursory, at West Ham we had no checks at all. Have you tried going online on a PC and downloading the pass as a pdf to print out? I print my pass as I don't trust my phone not to freeze when I need it.
  4. I always want the most unusual opposition away. Would love Boreham Wood, Kidderminster or Cambridge. Expect it will be Crystal Palace
  5. It was rather too exciting for me as my car caught fire om the A34 on the way there and burnt out
  6. Maybe they are waiting to see if our game at Swansea goes ahead? Because if it is off Jan 18/19 would be obvious dates for it.
  7. Yes it was very cold with some flurries of snow. A brilliant save by Shilton from Garry Birtles kept us in it before Steve Moran gave us the lead. Forest equalised and then Moran got the winner late in the game.
  8. Forest away in 84. 2-1 win including a Moran wondergoal that put us on the road to the semifinals?

What annoys me is that VAR has no jurisdiction over the award of yellow cards. Yet yellow cards can have significant influence on the outcome of a game, especially the first of two yellows, or can lead to players being banned for a subsequent game. Many times we have seen yellow cards that are clear and obvious errors, such as in the Brighton game, so why not use VAR then?
  10. Suspect we will need to keep Jan 18 clear to play the Swansea game if it does not go ahead on Saturday
  11. There is an obvious date for this game - Saturday January 29th. That has been scheduled as the "winter break" for the Premier League. But Newcastle are already having a nice winter break and playing then is far less disruptive than a midweek fixture.
  12. In almost any other season this game being postponed would not cause any concern. But we have never before had a case where a struggling club goes into the January transfer window with the capability to effectively upgrade its entire team (with the possible exception of Manchester City post takeover in 2008/9 and they were not struggling). If the situation does not challenge "the integrity of the competition" I don't know what does.
  13. I was told by someone who had inside knowledge at the time that Merrington never wanted the job. He was put under pressure by the club to take it, as he was told that if he didn't other members of the coaching staff would lose their jobs. Being the man he is he reluctantly took it on to help his colleagues.
  14. Would not be surprised if Villa try to get their money back by selling Ings to Newcastle.
  15. Trossard's appalling arm injury at St Mary's seems to have healed very quickly
  16. How stupid are those Leicester fans that don't understand we had nothing to do with Bertrand joining them?
  17. Have a suspicion that with increased covid restrictions in Wales away supporters might not be allowed to go. There doesn't appear to be any ticket news yet for a game that is not that far off.
  18. No I think it is Brentford. Fail to win and he is gone.
  19. According to the official website we will have to "pre-register our covid status" to get admission. They don't say how you do that, we are meant to get an email but I haven't seen anything yet.
  20. What hasn't been mentioned is how good the Australian referee Jarred Gillett was on Saturday. It was a joy to have a game refereed according to the actual rules, rather than how a self important english ref feels they must be applied to the advantage of certain clubs. I doubt that any of the usual offenders would have had the temerity to show an Arsenal player a yellow card as early as the 3rd minute.
  21. They are stupid in saying that we mugged them. Bertrand was a free agent. Him going to Leicester was totally their choice..
  22. I would much rather have this. It was much better when home and away kits were on a staggered two-season rotation, which meant there was still a new kit every season. Although that only works when you don't change manufacturer. I find my younger generation though think I am a bit odd for not wanting a new kit every season.
  23. What we need is half time reduced back down to 10 minutes and evening kick-offs at 7.30 so you can be home at a decent time instead of being in the ground past 10 pm
  24. Interesting that they say in the video that the Denmark design will be reused at some point.
  25. You are absolutely right. Jones had a great half a season when he was the best keeper in the league then made a couple of howlers and was dreadful after that. Maik Taylor was indeed a much better keeper and being younger would have solved the keeper issue for years.
