You have already forgotten last season's game at Old Trafford then. Fernandes took a swing at Ward-Prowse. He missed but still should have been red carded. Maguire stamped on Broja but VAR did nothing.
-
It doesn't matter if he touched the ball or not. As you say, the challenge was out of control and dangerous. We have seen them from United players any number of times in previous games at Old Trafford. The difference yesterday was they got punished
-
Hilariously, the BBC have nominated Stuart Armstrong as player of the match with 7.91 while Onuachu who I think may not have touched the ball gets 6.56.
-
Thought he was a write-off earlier this season. But he is making a contribution now
-
For older fans this game will have brought back horrors memories of 1974, when we lost at home to Wrexham in the 5th round. Also after having knocked Blackpool out.

On April 11 1981 there were just 11,013 in St James Park to see them play Cambridge in the old second division. But they have always had massive support...

In fairness, statistics on population are always contentious as I have found in many a pub quiz where you have to list the largest cities in the UK. 800k is about right if you look at the Tynside area rather than Newcastle itself. But then wikipedia puts Southampton's urban population at 855k.

Yes it was first worn at Wembley for the Charity Shield, and only launched on the Friday before. The badge first appeared as a direct embroidery on the shirt, then on a simple black circle and by the end of the season the FA Cup Winners 1976 had been added. That badge continued to be used on the Admiral shirts through to 1980 and the Patrick era.

yes you are right, it isn't ever mentioned that we had beaten them at the Dell the same season. And the next season at the Dell Bremner tried showboating and lost the ball, leading us to scoring. We won 3-1 the week before they lost the FA cup final to Sunderland

Marsch would be karmic retribution for playing American Idiot at half-time of the Leeds game
-
What was going on with the two JWP free kicks? Never seen him not have a shot from those positions. It was almost like he wanted us to lose to be shot of Nathan Jones...
-
That is I would say a possibility. Or perhaps Wilder.

Rather than being a good thing this could hasten the formation of a breakaway European league led by City
-
I was there the last time we played Grimsby. A second replay at Filbert Street on a night of snow and freezing fog.
-
It is hard to understand why, but that game at Villa just seems to have killed the team. It wasn't like we haven't bounced back from savage beatings before. This time though all the confidence drained out of the players. I do though tend to blame the yellow and blue scarves handed out at Villa Park as bringing bad luck.

The family that owns City are worth around one trillion dollars. They will be able to pay enough to lawyers to make this inconvenience go away. And then an example will be made of a smaller club to show that justice is being done.

He was fouled four times yesterday. Twice by the same player in quick succession. But did the yellow card come out? Lavia commits one foul and the card was straight out. Edozie would be fantastic in a good team. Right now I think he would be more useful coming off the bench than starting. Unless that is if he was selected over Elynnoussi.

Delap fell out with Stoke after they sacked his dad this month. He is now on loan to Preston so couldn't join us this season. He might be a target for the summer as he will be very familiar with the championship
-
Right now I would love a David Hirst to score 9 goals in 28 games in his first season with us
-
If we are realistic we probably need a striker that can contribute four or five extra goals in the rest of the season as that is likely to make the difference. It sounds unambitious, but if Adams had scored perhaps two or three of the chances missed so far then we would not be in the bottom three now. I think Ings is the best bet on that basis.
-
Andy Reid was long gone from Spurs by then, but Arry was keen to get rid of Bale, I think one move might have been to Birmingham
-
I suspect that the designs have already been selected. That is unless we have a break with Hummel.
-
yes it stinks. Effectively a cup competition that should be played with the some rules for all allows Mike Dean to ensure Liverpool don't get knocked out.
-
he can't lose though. If he does really well and we stay up he is a PL player. If he does just ok but we go down he gets a move to a PL club like Cornet going to West Ham. And whatever happens he is getting PL wages

It might have been that appointing NJ in the summer, with time to work on the team and sign players for his system, could even have worked. He was the wrong man to appoint when things had already got so bad
