Edwards deal is done, was in his last year of contract, and they were scared he would go for nothing next year which is why its such a good price. Other Peterborough target not happening and is still training at Peterborough.
-
No link, that has come direct from someone at Peterborough.
-
As well as Ronnie Edwards we are trying to sign Hector Kyprianou.
-
Also Cambridgeshire, I have actually seen a few young kids in their Saints shirts recently, having been born and grown up in the fens I rarely saw anyone in Saints stuff.
-
Need to get him signed on long term. Someone I knows son is in the England squad that Dom is in, and says he is the best player in the whole squad. Don't want Chelsea nabbing him, especially on the cheap if they do come in.

Indeed. In my opinion this is one of the best windows we have had for ages. Seem to be actually trying to shift the crap, and have already got a right back, centre back and centre mid in, which were the main positions we needed. On top of that all the signings look like great prospects, and potential large resale values in a few years. If we can add a cover full back and one more wide player, then it will have been much much better than I expected.

At least it gives Redmond time to be fit again.

Villa are such a one man team it is untrue. Grealish has been truly outstanding, but take him out of the game and they really have very little else. So why do we not go a bit old fashioned and stick a proper man marker on him, follow him literally everywhere he goes, give him zero time? Nullify there only big threat? Got to be someone who doesn't dive in and can get about the pitch quickly as well, as Grealish is very good on the ball. You just don't see a man marker in modern football anymore.

Southampton FC exists so I have a reason to be an alcoholic.

People calling for Vallery over Cedric....Dear oh dear.
-
In standard Saints antics, Andy Lonergan starts the game and then gets man of the match..
-
I would go with the below: McCarthey Cedric Yoshida/Danso Bednarek Bertrand JWP Romeu Hojberg Redmond Adams Boufal

I am for once really impressed how quickly we have got this done. I am also looking forward to the high tempo high pressing style, love watching teams that do this. Bet the players are either really excited on ****ting one about the fitness..

I would like to see Michael Obafemi on the bench. Its about time he got a shot, can't be any worse than Long or Austin, and he has something to prove.
-
They should be giving him an extended run in the side in pre-season to see if he has what it takes. Playing with better players he should get more opportunities to shine. He has all the attributes to be what we need, quick and big, can be the focal point of the attack that players can play off. But also mobile to get in behind when needed.
-
I have just wanted a keeper who comes and claims crosses and corners. Alex has done that using his size to great effect, and it makes a massive difference. He has obviously worked very hard to get in shape as well, as he did not look that great at Cambridge United when I saw him for the U23's early on this season. Great to see him come in and make the position his own, and on probably a third of FF wages.

I would like to see the following, with Boufal right up with Carillo, mix it up a bit. McCarthey Cedric Hoedt Stephens Bertrand Hojberg Lemina Ward-Prowse Tadic Boufal Carillo

Surely the board don't have to look any further than, "we sacked Puel cause he was apparently boring and not entertaining the fans. So we appointed Pellegrino apparently for his attacking easy on the eye football, but turns out he has no idea of what attacking football is. How many games have we scored more than 1 goal???" Doesn't play our most attacking players, and defends once we have scored 1 goal" Sack

-2/10 - offered so much getting VVD sold straight away, and then one signing, who has been on the bench since signing....
-
I would rather we signed a forward who holds the ball up, and brings other players into the game further up the pitch. This is what Pelle did so effectively, but wasn't given enough credit for, and what we have missed greatly. Austin as good a finisher as he is, is not a target man in the sense of playing with his back to goal. Play Gabbi or Austin up front with this style forward and they would score over 20 goals a season. But this means the manager changing the boring formation that is proving so successful this season...

We played a game against Liverpool under 15's at the start of this season. They had some massive lad over on trial from Poland, he was a monster, bloody good though. Got talking to the head coach down there, and he said that 90% of the under 15's had agents already. One of the lady stewards there told me that the club had bought a house for the centre forwards family. And to be honest he really was not all that, very like Sturridge didn't like passing. Houses may be cheap in Liverpool but he was not worth anywhere near it. All the lads seemed decent though, didn't appeal for anything just got on with the game.

Echo that. Top bloke didn't want to go.

He should certainly not play out wide. His movement forward is just not that of a wide player. In the Europa games he just never came and showed for the ball, giving Targett no easy out ball, he hasn't got the pace for the ball in behind the full back either. Playing in the middle he can get on the ball more and play good balls forward or just keep it. I had thought he should have been dropped for Sunday's game, but playing in the position he did he certainly affected the game more and showed a lot more for the ball. If he keeps playing like he did Sunday he is worth having in the team other than just for dead ball delivery, which everyone knows is top notch.
