  1. i think this is a likely scenario, JP has offered to quit, the meeting is to agree terms. or am i getting overexcited!
  2. when i was a kid in the 80s i remember going to a match against birmingham city in the old first division. it was 0-0 and then 5 mins before the end city scored and this sparked a massive pitch invasion protest from the fans which the donny game reminds me of. it's some kind of groundhog day.
  3. do we owe Her Majesty any money? it always seems to be the tax man that puts clubs into administration
  4. I only saw the bristol city game but as I remember they scored 2 goals out of nothing from what were essentially long balls that weren't dealt with by the centre backs...
  5. I agree, it doesn't make any sane sense. My family has a few with mental health problems and i can see so much of them in Lowe. like reading the letter, i can't think of a sane reason to read out the letter. it's not a well thought out strategy, it's clearly delusional to think that a random letter confirms to all that everything he's doing is right. I think Lowe is self-obsessed and sinking deeper into some kind of fantasyworld.
  6. I'm starting to think Lowe might actually have a mental health problem, he certainly fits the bill for megalomania, delusions of grandeur and the such like. this letter waving stuff is quite possibly straying into the clinical realm. sectioning might be the most likely route to his departure.
  7. Portvliet proves his invisible cow 'daisy' IS real by taking it from behind in front of saints fans
  8. can saints win without schneiderlin though- with a quick count i make it this season (probably not error free): with schneiderlin 6 wins 3 draw 5 defeats average points 1.4 per game. without schneiderlin 1 win 3 draws 4 defeats average 0.75 points per game, the only win being at norwich. does not bode well for tomorrow although i hope to be surprised.
  9. I'm still not sure i get this spiderman thing. why if the arsenal wanted him did they not just buy him? from their side what are they getting by letting him come to saints for 6 months?
  10. I think that apart from long shot you're all wide of the mark here. Harry didn't want to be here because of Lowe, not because he had something against saints or any other reason. I think if Lowe had treated him at all sensibly he would have done a good job for us as he has everywhere else he's gone.
  11. To get back to the original point, Wotte kind of gave away the revolutionary nature of the set-up on the OS a few weeks back. Apparently the revolution was to rearrange reserve team fixtures so that the first team and reserves can train 'together'. According to Wotte what this actually means is that Jan trains with the first team and he takes the rest. So the real revolution is that teams train simultaneously, rather than together. I imagine the point of the revolution is simply logistical, so that you don't have to plan in advance who is in what training session, and players can be shunted from one set to the other, in response to injuries etc. the rest as we know, is spin. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10458
  12. Nickh has it right- if the kids aren't making the grade then you have to look at those that are throwing them in too soon, rather than berate the kids. They're not being paid a fortune and they're only 18 or so so their confidence will be vwery fragile while things are going poorly.
