  1. Maybe better option for QPR then…
  2. Not sure if this is posted elsewhere apologies if so, this bloke any good never heard of him… http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-qpr-keeping-tabs-aik-4649766
  3. I'd have thought he played a major and if not lead role in getting Pochettino and Koeman, for that alone he thoroughly deserves an awful lot of credit!
  4. True and long may it continue. Think RK sees Alderweireld as a definite starter and thought Gardos was maybe brought in to partner him but all the time Fonte plays well he deserves to keep his place. Good to have four decent CB's all vying for a starting spot; if anyone can pick out the best pairing as an ex CB it should be RK…
  5. Don't think it'll be too long before we see Gardos and Alderweireld as the CB partnership…
  6. Granted at time of tender there are often quite a lot of unknowns (i.e. risks normally priced in or excluded by the contractor from their tender price). But with respect the vast majority of the actual specifications are known. For example the specifications for the playing surfaces in this scenario would be known, the concrete strength specifications would be known, and whether Cortese wants a solid or plated-gold Guly statue would be known. Historically architects acted as the client's project manager as well as their designer, this is still the case on smaller projects and could possibly be the case here, but on larger projects the norm is to engage a specific project management firm; unless the client wants to try and cut corners and kill two birds with one stone using the architect as designer and project manager. Judging by Cortese's $30m summer transfer spend and swiss banking background IMO he doesn't strike me as someone who looks to cut corners just to save a few quid. I'd be surprised if he didn't have a PM firm looking after the club's interests. As someone else mentioned be interesting to find out what the real reasons are. I don't buy the unknown specification reason, primarily because there are numerous different specifications required for a construction project, and say even if one or two of those are unknown for some reason, the contractor should still be able to proceed with other areas of the project that are not affected by the "unknown specification". Could be wrong though without knowing the facts. anyone know what stage of the works the project is at? just started/half way/nearly finished?
  7. In large scale construction projects the architect is involved and required through to project completion. The bulk of the architect's work is done in drawing up the initial DA and subsequent construction drawing plans yes, but the design can and does change for a number of different reasons throughout a project and the architect is required to design these changes as and when they happen.
  8. Suspending a principal contractor is normally a costly measure and as such used as an almost last resort. Once suspended more often than not termination follows but not always. The club should have a project management consultancy practice advising them and managing the contract. Assuming this is the case I would have thought they would have made or at least be on board with the decision, assuming the decision was made by the club and not the contractor themselves which without knowing the facts could also be the case. If the termination worse case scenario follows and a new contractor needs to be sourced this would delay completion by anywhere up to 6 months plus and at considerably increased costs. a point of note being who is the common denominator in all these disputes with contractors and newspapers etc? Cortese may well be in the right though and just not taking any carp, without knowing the background reasons we can only speculate. On balance though he seems to have done remarkably well since coming on board so without knowing the facts, it's probably unfair to lay the blame at his door as no doubt some people will automatically default to.
  9. Isn't he nearly always injured or have I just fabricated that?
  10. Can't be arsed trawling through a 90-odd page thread or whatever it is now.
  11. Certainly very well researched. Who is he anyway anyone heard of him?

  13. What he said
  14. Useless ****! He can't keep costing us, **** him off. If we make it up he'll be an absolute liability in the prem!
  15. That should have said; ... "than" leaving him in and hasn't "convinced" me either sorry
