Yep the attitude that gets shown towards him is absolutely pathetic he had some important assists too early at a time when the team wasn’t getting any wins, without His goals, assists and penalty wins we would’ve probably been close to bottom in november
-
I think that’s good news for us, surely there wouldn’t be the article from earlier today suggesting we are preparing a bid, plus this one if Chelsea hadn’t let it be know he would be available?
-
Yep I would play a 4312 style with our players
-
But that type of player doesn’t work in the 4222 as they have to do too much tracking back so that JWP and OR don’t get get overrun
-
something like a 4–1(OR)-2(jwp&id)-1-2 what is pretty clear is that the 4-2-2-2 isn’t the best for for what we have available
-
Provided the assist for the only goal in the win at Watford and scored the only goal against villa, that’s 2 pretty important contributions in 2 pretty important wins

Yesterdays Sydney thunder was the first match this had become an issue, and it was so everything possible to keep going. There was no rule in place it was just see what happens when it happens this Melbourne stars match is the biggest test as this has over half the squad out
-
Here is what is happening in the big bash cricket. Teams have base squads of 18-20, Melbourne have 10 positive tests yet still want to play and are drafting in players from local leagues to make sure the game can go on, what an attitude difference https://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/the-ashes/ashes-2022-justin-langer-future-contract-australia-vs-england-cricket-australia-nick-hockley-pat-cummins/news-story/8ae934e9e2bedbea337ed539b5eca54d

It’s amazing the differences in 2 sports today in the big bash cricket today, Sydney thunder had an outbreak, were left with 11 fit players in Adelaide, so played with those 11, even though they had more bowlers than they normally would in their 11. Didn’t seem to bother them as they won

Some fantastic stuff there JWP with his goal and plenty of work through midfield Forster, especially in the first half did some great sweeping work, which he never would’ve years ago, clearly our best keeper Valery, I like him as a 3rd CB, and if that allows us to press up like we did in the first 40mins then maybe this option should be used more AArmstrong put in a great defensive effort second half both full back did good jobs long won 8 out of 9 aerial duals, he ended up being perfect to play in this game
-
Take advantage of this price of luck Ralph needs to make sub or 2 very soon
-
Yep just before the incident I was going to come on here and say I can’t see Salisu staying on the pitch as he seemed to be taking the press hard instruction to over 100% of what he should’ve. shame as we were playing well and it looked like we had gone back 3 years to when Ralph took over with the high energy in the final 3rd, winning the ball back early and giving spurs loss time at all
-
And there are plenty of times he gets caught out defensively by being right sided.
-
Or he could’ve found a way to check on McCarthy instead of just moaning about it But obviously can’t say anything is Ralph’s fault
-
1st halves 7w, 7d, 3l, 28 points 2nd halves 1w, 6d, 10l, 9 points
-
Absolutely the only thing Ralph has done perfectly in his time here is make so many people believe we have a squad that would be uncompetitive in the outer Mongolian 15th division. you don’t need someone exciting to play a left back at left back you don’t need someone exciting to play our best right back from last year at right back this year you don’t need someone exciting to stop playing with these 2 10s that offer nothing as most or our game plan bypasses these positions anyway you don’t need someone exciting to maybe put an extra man in the middle of midfield to stop us being overrun there every week
-
McCarthy couldnt move sideways so if it had gone over the wall it’s in, unfortunately JWP couldn’t wait to see if it cleared the wall before moving back
-
I don’t blame JWP, think about every game you have watched under Ralph, doesn’t matter what the situation how often have you seen our players just boot the ball? It just doesn’t happen, so it must be instructions to not do it, the instructions come from Ralph
-
1st halves 6w, 7d, 2l, 25 points 2nd halves 1w, 6d, 8l, 9 points and before people say today was only the last 2 mins that lost the win, again we had 11 shots first half, 3 shots second half against a team that needed to attack and should’ve left more chances for us out there
-
Yes that’s what most puzzling to me too if I can be bothered I might do last season too, the other thing I should’ve added in was shots per half
-
So finally decided to total this up as opposed to just assuming we are bad 1st halves: 5 wins 7 draws and only 2 losses (Chelsea and Liverpool both away). 2nd halves: 1 win (Leeds home) 6 draws and 7 losses. so if games only consisted of 1st halves 22 points, only second 9 points. what stands out though is how immediate the change is after the breaks
-
So a goal and 2 assists from Armstrongs previous 3 games isn’t good enough? And without those we would be sitting on 1 win.
-
I don’t know how he does it either, but it happens basically every game so obviously something goes wrong. Very wrong.
-
Add to the fact yet again, after half time we were nowhere near as dominant. Even in our wins this happens, is this because other managers improve their team at half or does Ralph make ours worse? Either way it’s obvious what will happen in every game, we are never as good second half.
-
Sort of agree, but with the improvement he showed last year you could expect some further improvement this year. but if you aren’t going to use him today it’s clear Ralph is never going to use him again
