  1. I tend to agree now, the fascination with a striker is beyond tedious, the way people talk on here you would think goals by “A proper Centre Forward” counted double. I couldn’t care where the goals come from, but I know right now we aren’t stopping any either
  2. How that could be a foul is just mind boggling, every challenge should be a foul if that’s the case. I also don’t understand what happened to us at set price defending, in our best days under Ralph we would hold a high line and the opposition would always be offside, slowly that high line disappeared and now we just concede. it wasn’t an a easy save for Bazunu, but he just never saves anything, Martinez made a couple of crackers, there is your difference How does Orsic not play infront of Edozie? Makes no sense at all. special shout out to Mara who probably played the worst I have ever seen a player at this level, made Ali Dia look like Messi.
  3. I thought the second half at Fulham, where there was a lot more playing to feet and driving forward was going to be the change that got us going, but then we obviously followed up with the dross that we did. hopefully now it’s embedded into everyone how we should play what I loved from this game was at no point did we sit back and invite pressure, we were always looking to have the ball, move the ball forward and get at city. long may this continue
  4. And what’s the excuse all the people had for booing Pelle on his home debut, that was pathetic
  5. It depends on how we set up, based on what we seem to be signing it looks like we might be moving towards more of a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 in which the full backs probably aren’t as required to bomb forward, so pure defending probably more important, so there probably would be better available for that role overall he has been great for us but if a super solid defender was available and we got a great price it would be good for a couple of reasons, 1 it would improve is defensively and 2 it would keep the impression for other young ambitious players that we can be good for them
  6. And it’s also crazy to see how far Ralph disintegrated nearly everyone of those players. every player on that list is now a far inferior player and have been for a long while
  7. With us winning?
  8. Just checking that in my early morning daze I didn’t get this wrong Lyanco started again didn’t he Sarmstong didn’t come on until the very end did he
  9. Given how infrequently this seems to happen maybe we dont!
  10. This is the thing for mine as someone pointed out during the week, the majority of this team was the same team that absolutely played spurs off the park in probably the slickest saints performance I can remember, now the only thing we can with any slickness is concede soft goals i have also mentioned on here a few times, how good so many of our players looked in their first 5-10 games here compared to what they evolved into, Djenepo scored goals, Aarmstromg had a couple of goals and multiple assists, Theo had goals and assists, when Ely looked competent when he returned from Celtic, Aribo had a couple of early goals. I just don’t see how it’s possible for all of these players to disintegrate if all is anywhere near well behind the scenes
  11. I just can’t understand why we would be looking at getting him back
  12. But everyone else we have put in the midfield the fans have said they don’t want to see in a Southampton shirt again, so do we just play 5 defenders and 5 attackers and be done with the midfield entirely!
  13. Umm what part of where i said we were battered in general play makes you think I think we were any good overall but it is a fact they had very few clear cut chances. the amount of people that can’t understand this is just mind boggling just like possession stats alone don’t decide a match, xG doesn’t either, but so much data goes into analysing a performance, people that want to slag off specific data sets in isolation show they have no idea what they are doing
  14. If anyone needed further proof that fans opinions are a load of old toot then here you go. Brighton far out played us, but their actual chances weren’t that clear, first goal should’ve been saved, second wasn’t a shot and 3rd long range that wouldn’t haves high success rate we on the other hand had a penalty and a tap in, which would be a goal almost every time. once you look at that actual metric, the defence actually didn’t do too bad at limiting obvious chances overall we played crap in terms of goalmouth chances they didn’t exactly have a heap (obviously they may have created more if they needed too)
  15. I would assume both JWP shots are counted here, so both the penalty and the free header would have a high xG but overall we did have 14 shots to 7, and their first goal should’ve been saved, their second didn’t come from a shot and their third would’ve been very low xG
  16. with that weird attitude I would think almost the entire blame should lay at the tossers who kept a clearly past it Ralph in the job for so much longer than he should’ve been
  17. Personally I’m not sure it matters who is in charge, so many of the players have been Ralphed and are just absolute shadows of what they were at their best. KWP looks miles off of it Salisu no longer commanding JWP no drive Diallo well nothing at all SArmstong obviously something going on there Djenepo completely gone Mo still trying but all attacking passing him by And also as others have said, there does appear to be something a little odd with SR and their actions
  18. Why on earth would Fraser have accepted at that time when Ralph clearly had Alex ahead of him. If Ralph was playing Fraser he may have signed it. Ralph backed the wrong horse by prioritising the wrong player
  19. Baz isn’t an upgrade on what Forster was producing last season, but Ralph backed the wrong horse at the start of last season
  20. I voted unsure you can’t have done what he has at Luton without having something about you, and you definitely can’t succeed in the premier league if you never get given a chance. But it doesn’t seem the right time for a quite speculative appointment
  21. Wonder what will happen if he doesn’t want the job?
  22. Just watching the other games from overnight, every other team is playing a completely different game to us with a desire to play forward and take the game on, playing the style we are gives us no chance
  23. The way some people carry on on here you would think Broja scored 50 goals last season. he didn’t, the attack is garbage because of the way we are managed, you only need to look at Ralph’s preseason comments about Stu Armstrong being criticised because he likes to play attacking passes that don’t always go to a teammate to know Ralph wants safe slow play that is easy to defend against
  24. This is what Ralph has done to the club, it’s pathetic ive said for a while now, Ralph is fantastic at one thing, making everyone think that we are a terrible club, so that less and less expectation falls on him
  25. Spot on, signing him based on what he had achieved in his footballing life wasn’t the problem, it was taking too long to make a change, just like now
