  1. Is this the players or is this managers? I thought the bit they said on TSP this week about the club being scared is so true, everything is set up with the worst possible outcome in mind, which means no matter who we buy in attack, we go back to the crappy old ways instead of picking the attackers to attack Alcarez scores a goal and we haven’t seen him since, Sulemana bought as a winger, but plays as a striker so we can fit the hard working Ely in, Orsic had great pedigree and doesn’t get a look in, Edozie lots of runs at defenders but now frozen out, how much better might he be if the opposition knew he wasn’t our only running outlet, if we had Sulemana on the other wing suddenly we can run and carry either way. I just can’t believe we are onto our 3rd manager this season and none of them seem to play the right players the right way
  2. Just seems so obvious that something like this suits this squad so much more than anything that they have been used in. obviously something has happened with Orsic so that can be Stu or Edozie Alcaraz bought for a reason and not being used Sulamena being bought because of what he did playing wide and being played centrally crucially no Janny B in this line up either
  3. It’s so hard to tell if our signings are any good as they keep getting integrated with the same solid crap around them the players never really seem to be playing in a system that suits, out squad probably looks best suited to 433 but jones wanted back five, Selles seems to want 4222, no one seems to want to stick the best players in their best positions
  4. Alcaraz clearly not a Selles signing, the only non JWP scorer we have had since what seems like forever, and can’t get near the side now the combo of Bednarek and Bazunu for that goal just sums up our defending this season substitutions very odd today I thought
  5. There must be something odd going on behind the scenes as this is now 3 managers that have selected very very strange teams
  6. Pep was outplayed by Jones so I doubt anyone would want him. Now I don’t have a Leeds supporting mate so I don’t think my opinion will count for anything, but Jesse seems ok to me, seems to play a style that will suit many of the players we have. Now if he just put the right players in the right position that would be a good start
  7. Today was the first game all season I haven’t woken up in the middle of the night to watch, I waited until I woke up this morning. best decision I have ever made (well actually not watching at all would’ve been better). such an odd structure, Croatians banished and the biggest thing for me, we have the best free kick taker in the world, he has 2 chances to take a free kick and he does neither, surely that has been imposed upon him?
  8. Branfoot was before my time, so I voted for Stuart Gray as we were on a massive up when he took over from Hoddle (and actually had some good results as caretaker) but as full time manager he stopped some big momentum Jones comes in second, the only reason is we were already on a massive massive massive downward trajectory when he took over **only joking but maybe we should get hoddle back as we played 4-3-3 that season and it seems so obvious that we should be playing that now, Davies-Beattie-Pahars was a fun trio**
  9. Gee I really feel sorry for Ralph now, the fact he didn’t have a list of the squad before he joined, or at any point of his tenure must have made it difficult for him
  10. Yep it really shows how stupid and irrational most people on here are, Ralph wasn’t at fault for losses because it wasn’t his squad and the poor managers before him yet all these people are completely blaming Jones for everything wrong (and yes I agree Jones is useless). these people are also silent on the form since the Norwich game thread, of which Ralph presided over
  11. I raised this on one of the 7 billion other threads and it really is remarkable it’s not as through there was the odd win leading up to the villa game, there was consistent good form, unbeaten in previous 5 which included draw at old Trafford, draw against city and that win at spurs. Some top class performances in that lot. And when you look at it, that win against arsenal was one of the luckier wins we have had, no way do win that with Baz in goal. from the previous win against Norwich to the loss against villa the only changes were Salisu out for Stephens and KWP out for Perraud the fa cup game was in between and there were lots of changes made for that match. so 100% there has to be what lost Ralph the dressing room in between those matches, and he didn’t just loose them down the back of the sofa, he accidentally mailed them to Siberia never to be found again. man’s this is also why I don’t buy the “Ralph was hamstrung by the board not getting players” primarily the same players are here missing from that run are Forster (obviously miles ahead of Baz, but Ralph backing McCarthy earlier led to FF wanting out) Romeu who was aging Broja who had stopped scoring by then anyway Tino, who was to be replaced by KWP and the magical lucky charm S Armstrong. but all of these apart from tino were there throughout the rest of the season free fall, which again says something had to have happened behind the scenes to suddenly make the entire group disappear when did Ralph give that odd interview about looking towards retirement?
  12. I wonder if a viable solution is this, place him on stress leave effective immediately, offer a 6 month contract with as much money as possible to every good candidate and reassess at the end of the season that way no one loses face immediately, we might be able to get a very highly credentialed candidate and everyone has some hope again
  13. I just went back and watched it, the problem is before the ball was squared back by the Brentford player, he wasnt by his near post, he was past the near post, so when he went to move back across his goal line when the ball was squared, he only got himself in line with the post (as shown the still above) so his positioning was so out of whack to start with he gave himself no chance on the cut back. I keep my view that there are so many shots (not form the weekend) that he should be between a 20%-50% chance of saving, so not expected to save, but he should get some of them, but he gets none of them
  14. Yeah I’m hoping if we do go down we get a fan clean out too
  15. Why do we have so many people who just blatantly make stuff up? Tall Paul won 6/13 aerial duels, and how on earth did we look worse with him upfront given we only had 2 shots in the time before he came on, 12 afterwards
  16. That is absolute garbage. If the fans hated on Ralph as much as they should’ve, maybe the change would’ve been made in the summer, and who knows who we would’ve ended up but it would’ve been better than what we started with this year and have continued. I would love to know what happened after that Norwich match on Feb 26, it will be 5 in 33 since that game. That is not just a jones thing, this has been a whole of club thing
  17. But Ralph always had him on the left too, even when Tino clearly fading and needing a rest. So that’s 2 managers that favour this for some reason. and kwp at fault for the set up of the first goal
  18. Another goal from the left KWP marking the wrong man in the build up which dragged everyone of out position
  19. People on here pretend it isn’t hard to sign any attackers It is incredibly difficult, you either sign someone from the championship and cross your fingers they make the step up, or you try and sign someone from overseas and cross your fingers no one else wants wants them.
  20. And just looking through the top scorers this season, there are actually very few out and out strikers apart from a couple of stars, it’s all about goals from multiple sources and we only have 2 (Adams & JWP)
  21. Bottom line is it doesn’t really seem possible to run a club sustainably without knowing some of these players we have been linked to all that well, they all seem incredibly overpriced for what they have done Surley Newcastle don’t think buying Gordon was any value? I see Everton have been quoted 25m for Gyokeres, no way does that seem reasonable either. I just don’t see how we can stay in the league long term the way it is regardless of what we do this year, we seem to have owners that are happy to spend but only responsibly and that just won’t cut it anymore
  22. If that was remotely true, Che wouldn’t miss as many chances as he does. He can clearly do most parts of the game except for finish (which is obviously important). it’s no coincidence that all of our good chances happened last night after Che and Arma came on.
  23. Spot on, whether or not people on here think he was the answer the club clearly wanted him and could’ve wrapped it up earlier but stuffing around has cost us again
  24. We’ve been linked with Jackson for how long? Been stuffing about haggling and Bournemouth just come in and go bang and pay a price that gets the job done.
  25. Or you could blame Mara for giving away such a stupid pointless free kick in the first place but in the set up the defender in the line behind Lyanco (Salisu i think) should’ve been organising Lyanco to let him know where the rest of the line were and re Bazunu, individually that wouldn’t have been an easy save, but the problem is there have been so many that he would’ve / should’ve been a 20%-50% chance of saving but he doesn’t save any of them, so whilst not at fault he doesn’t get that extra save or 2 in
