I mentioned this a few games ago, I think the problme is more so with the fcat that the 3 players in behind him don't all work the oppositiopn defenders enough. As it stands most defenders now double team Lambert when he is in the box as they know the 3 attacking mids don't get into dangerous positions enough so Lambert is always left isolated. To get some space he drifts wide, which wouldn't be a problem if the attacking mids then got in his place in the box but they don't, so there are never enough options for him to pick out. Bottom line to get more goals and to get more out of Lambert we need better performing players in the 3 attacking mids

I think this weekend is our best chance of picking up a result as under MP we have played well against the top 7 teams Everton, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City have all been good performances mostly with good results The concern for me is that against the teams around and below us we have been very poor to average at best Newcastle, Qpr, WBA, all terrible West Ham, Norwich, Swansea, Reading all average performances that with a bit of bad luck could have seen us with nothing to show for those games I think we will be safe this season but MP really needs to work out how to play against different opposition next season very quickly

I would be hesitant to judge him on his qpr form, as qpr have a stack of very good individual players who just don't play well together He must have some very good attributes to be at real madrid and to be able to command that sort of fee If the club feel than can un-qpr him he would be a good option in my opinion

I think the biggest reason for this is we hardly ever get the ball to the byline - whenever we have the ball put wide we always cut inside so defenders know they only have to defend the 18 yard box do can stay compact and don't get spread out enough to create space for the forwards, or and variety in cross angles for defenders to deal with
