  1. But if you are only given one or two a match and the ball is dead anyway what difference would it make. If you were serious about stoppages being you would be advocating that the play cannot stop for an injury and if it does tbtwd player concerned is given a mandatory time off the field - not just walk to the side and come straight back on. End of the day the top leagues around the world are longer a game they are full time professions based upon vast sums of money so the more decisions that are correct the better
  2. It's not as simple as that. We would also have players coming in wouldn't we
  3. Given how almost everyone on here thinks boruc did no wrong here last season it's only fair to give Davis the same benefit surely
  4. Agree - a striker who hasn't scored = easy target I think it's no surprise that his best form was early in the season when long was playing someone who helped spread the focus of the defenders and made additional runs
  5. Very poor defensively from basically the entire defensive Yes kelvin misjudged the cross badly but Fonte was lazy in keeping the Stoke player onside and both Clyne and Fonte were stagnant when the ball hit the cross bar - we still had a 2 vs 1 bit only one player reacted 2nd goal awful from s Davis with a dinky header to nowhere and a slack clearance - and as a member of our front four he offers nothing which leaves pelle completely isolated against 2 players most of the day. Every time mane looks dangerous he ends up on the ground Really goes to show that as well as we have done this season there is still a massive overall gulf in quality
  6. Odd performance - always seemed in control but there seems to be no understanding in the forward third - lots of mistimed runs and misplaced passes and basically people not being where each other thought they would be. Fantastic save from Forster to keep us in it with superb reactions, obvious foul on him after he collected the ball in the last minute Good to see victor and Morgan both getting some minutes again Hopefully targett is ok
  7. Yes good job the linesman wa son the ball with the offside call as that was an obvious foul

    Red card?

Would be interested to compare everyones thoughts on this versus wes brown from last season - both similar in that the both got a minor piece of the ball first but overall not a good tackle
  9. Great to see everyone on the Forster bandwagon- what about the fact that we had 2 players (Davis & a Fonte?) both covering shelvey but then both stood off him and allowed him to shoot under no pressure
  10. I think the centre backs are also at fault here, neither were close enough to GA so Forster saw the ball coming with a lot of space for the speedy GA and thought he should try and do something about it, especially as he has already seen GA running at us in space a couple of times already
  11. Just imagine if we hadn't frittered do much away on mayuka, gazzaniga, forren & osvsldo we may have been good enough to qualify for Europe and kept last seasons improved squad together
  12. Not a lot different to so many of last seasons home games with us struggling to break down organised defences Really need someone to help tadic on the other side to spread the play, all our creativity came from tadic so it was easy for west brom to cover that Having attacking options left and right will also help pelle. I had also hoped that most of the pathetic moaners were confined to the internet but it appears they also make up a stack of our real life 'supporters' too
  13. And so you think it would be a great selling point to Forster a 10m signing that you won't be our number 1 keeper until you prove it. The sense of self entitlement that some of our players from last season had is incredible
  14. As opposed to the NC/MP propaganda machine which has never slowed down If cork isn't starting and wants a starting berth why keep him here when he can go for nothing next summer
  15. So he doesn't want to be here I presume he isn't collecting his weekly wage from us as he is obviously spending time thinking about going elsewhere

    Shane Long

The only nailed on certainty here would be if we did sign wickham in place of long is that most of the miserable posters on here would be: A) complaining at signing someone unproven like wickham and; B) suggesting we sign a proven premier league goalscorer like long

    Shane Long

I would be very confident that he will provide more for us than great saint cortese signings mayuka and osvaldo
  18. Well I'm happy enough with a loan in the left back position - doesn't discourage targett to much and doesn't lock us in to a player who has shown ability but maybe not on as much of a consistent basis as he should Obsoletely mind boggling the response of the majority on here
  19. But that isn't correct. There are 2 ways in which you can sell a business 1) you sell the shares of the company that run the business and all of the assets & liabilities of that entity then effectively belong to the new shareholder or; 2) you sell the assets of the business whilst maintaining control of the original structure It is common place in scenario 2 for cash & liabilities to stay in the original entity, therefore still owned by KL and a dividend can then be paid out to her overtime
  20. Because it's not a bit more, it's an absolute fortune more You would need to basically double the entire current squads wages to compete with the big clubs Then you need to find 4/5 top quality players at probably 20m plus and pay them a stack of wages
  21. Or it might be seen as incompetent to offer players extended contracts when Koeman might not want them long term and we may be looking to purchase better. It would be incompetent to have players on your books who are no chance of getting games
  22. The toughness will depend on who comes in but I feel that those who are still here and playing by the start of the season will stay longer as long as there is no onfield disasters Interesting times ahead for sure but not necessarily the doom and gloom predicted Just on a side note a fellow australian saints supporter has just returned from holiday and said that the general opinion in the city was positive about Koeman and the season ahead, would be interested to know the feelings of those that don't post on here
  23. As I've just posted on one of the million other threads the longer this summer goes the more I think we need a complete fresh start without any of the hangover of corteses failed dream If we sell everyone who is still a hung up on that dream and replace them with good quality who play for Koeman then I'm not to bothered
  24. Maybe the whole squad dynamic does need to change as maybe too many players from the cortese/mp era were still hung up on the old pipedream We may be able to bring in an entirely new squad with a similar playing ability who grow into the club with a Koeman attitude and will all be happy playing under him and we can build another successful team that Mayr stay together for longer
