  1. Surely he can’t have lost all that page 1 hype, there must be a good player in there somewhere, just will it ever be extracted by us, or anyone else
  2. yet people on here think Ralph should be given the range on who we sign, i never think the manager should be choosing the signings
  3. Any interest in Tommy Rogic from Celtic?
  4. If you had started watching from about the 30 min mark we clearly the better side McCarthy very good Vestergard very good Armstrong looked like he wanted to actually move the ball forward in the first half - a shame he wasn’t on with the adjusted formation Ings quite lively Overall still very wasteful both with shots off target and not getting enough numbers in the box
  5. Even when we did finish 8th that wasn’t good enough
  6. We had a team that could defend under puel and apparently that was no good either There is next to zero reason for anyone to be doubting Hughes’ ability over a long period of time in this league
  7. Can someone explain to me why on earth so many people are so outraged at the kit having red and white stripes? We have had hundreds of striped shirts in our history and they all have red stripes and white stripes Admittedly the back doesn’t look great with a plain style but that is seemingly the way striped shirts have to be these days
  8. Couldn’t agree more - love the sash and it’s uniqeness
  9. I was already feeling good about his appointment but that record is even better than i had anticipated.

    VAR

Less than a minute into tonight’s a-league match Melbourne victory scored an offside goal - VAR fixed that Anyone who says getting less decisions wrong is a bad thing just likes to moan for the sake of it Of course there will be problems with new things
  11. Yes all the people who criticise Dalek on his hoddle rants say that hoddle was no good and the proof is he hasn’t got another job since, yet the same people don’t use that logic for cortese
  12. Granted I only get to see us on tv but the negative noises when a player does something the crowd don't think is brilliant are by far more prevelant at st Mary's than any other ground. If a misplaced forward pass occurs at any ground there seems to be applause for trying, as opposed to boos and groans that occur at our home ground I will ever forget the boos pelle wa see wing for most of the second half on his home debut Maybe this is just a reflection of where microphones are at certain grounds?
  13. But today neither were going to have big impacts based on the long ball tactics we were playing So either we should've played on the ground more or stared with long in place of one of these at least
  14. Maybe we were worried but I think we are setting up too worried about what the opposition do compared to what we can do Apostantky wevset upnhow we did midweek to counter wolves, then just listening to the post match there he said we played long balls as they have some string players, let's try playing to our strengths
  15. A million miles better with long on but no idea why the last 2 subs were what they were, especially with Austin and boufal on the bench. Need far better linkage between defence and attack, partially with the full backs getting forward more and also better passing from Davis Lemina pretty good whilst he was on 2 top saves from Forster (even if one shouldn't have needed to be made)
  16. Is this happening because those others forward of him arent in position, it does seem to me from the bits I watch from afar that the team just dont quite gel properly, I think we need to pick our best 11 and just leave it as much as possible for a run of matches
  17. Why would the manager think any different, fantastic cup run last year combined with 8th place in the league wasnt enough for the previous manager to keep his job so the current manager has no choice but to hope we can focus on and succeed more in the league
  18. Depends on how much of a crap bloke VVD really is At the end of the last Australian footy season, bryce Gibbs told Carlton he wanted to go to Adelaide and he had to get there. Carlton told Gibbs he was only 2 years into a 5 year deal and he could only go if Adelaide gave them over the odds in a trade, Adelaide wouldn't do that so he was forced to stay. He is having his best ever season now for Carlton so it's not an impossible situation to recover from
  19. I've lost interest in the premier league due to the tv rights in Australia being sold to a company without a tv presence and requiring people to change their mobile phone plans and internet providers to watch online coverage which continually freezes and provides live coverage on delay The greed of the premier league to take a few extra dollars over providing a viewing platform has lessened my interest Looking forward to watching the Europa league though which is on tv
  20. Saintsweb overrun relentless miserable posters
  21. The chances of 5 heads and a tail is exactly the same
  22. Or these things just take time Look how long it took Everton to announce their new manager after most people knew it had been set up a few weeks ago
  23. We need a manager who thinks he can do better than us - thatbwaybtheybare focused on being as successful as possible - the thing you don't want is an aging manager wanting a last pay day or someone who is genuinely only good enough for mid-lower table
  24. When should we have tied him down? During our mid season run of atrocious form? No one would've supported that As son as we got back in form he always said discuss at the ends of the season And even if we tied him down earlier it wouldn't have been at 6/7million a season so he would probably still ask to be released Leicester tied Vardy down long term too and how is that looking now?
