Coventry were pretty poor but our style of play just made it very easy for a very average side. Plodding donkey football just allows virtually every team we play to comfortably get into a bank of 5 and 4. How many runs did our forwards make, stuart Armstrong make and we ignore, and play the safe sideways pass. This all stems from our management. Martin waffles on about being brave, we ain’t brave in the final third. That was a hard watch, boring. My son even asked what which direction we were playing.

Finally moved the ball quickly today and created more space.. it’s not rocked science but a good performance.

It’s pretty dire football to watch.. I don’t mind possession but when you get a chance to counter attack but choose to retain the ball instead and go into safe mode, that’s what I don’t get.. I imagine the attacking players are pretty pissed off, we hardly create any chances, we rarely push to the bye line. It’s just very boring, unimaginative football. I’m not actually sure how we’ve got so many points by being bloody average, bar 30 mins against Leeds.

The problem is when we do pinch the ball and forward options are on, we often play safe and go Backwards or sideways. I get it when we have possession from a goal kick that we try and draw teams out but you have to move the ball quicker.

This team is completely lost, i don’t think they understand the system we’re meant to be playing. When we press we don't press as a team and when we attack we dont get enough in the attacking third. look at the last few games, how many clear cut chances have we created.? Hardly any, I really don’t see that changing under Martin, who quite frankly is piss poor. His interview last week blaming scars was gutless.. just alluding to the fact that the players are mentally weak, how would a player listening to that feel? He needs to go.. I know I will get hammered but now is the time to get someone in who knows how to build a team from back to front. Someone like adkins would unite the fan base at least. As for SR … crap. That post match interview was dreadful and to blame the scars of last season.. oh just piss off, embarrassing. The hangover from last season doesn’t affect the teams organisation on the pitch, nor does it affect new players who’ve joined us. SR just seem totally inept in running football clubs, I see their Turkish venture seems to be turning to shit.. 3 years of absolute dross.. back to the manager, nah, not for me, we need someone who’s been there and done it.. someone who understands the fundamentals of not conceding and then build from back to front.

I think the worry is that although we’ve won a few games they could easily have been lost.. we’ve not dominated enough to win any games comfortably.. with this squad we should be doing much better, also the ineptness of our formations and the confusion this causes in a massive worry. To play out from the back you need players technically good enough to do it, I don’t think we do.

On sports republic.. SFC are a business, a business that’s failing year on year with bad decisions one after another both on and off the pitch.. Surely the owner can’t accept this.. he’s either being badly advised or he’s simply out of his depth to. Always thought Martin was a garbage defender when he played.. he’s certainly not got anywhere near the ability to coach a team to defend.. teams score against in five passes, we plod up the pitch and go nowhere.
