  1. The timing is just so,so wrong,it had to happen straight after the WBA game,or wait and see where we were at the end of the season.
  2. The timing is totally unacceptable,Nigel had to be given until at least the end of the season,to see where the club is at then.If some of the supposition on this topic is true, why did Cortese not get rid of Nigel straight after the WBA game, because many of us fans, would not have been as angry and dismayed as we are now. The real worry is how this decision will affect the players and de-stablize the club and how will it impact on signing the players we were close to signing. Thank you Nigel, for all you have done for this club, you are a totally decent man and I wish you all the best in your future career. As for you Mr Cortese,I really hope that you have thought this through, the fact that the guy does not speak English, really does not sound too encouraging at this moment in time.
  3. Totally elated,well done Saints.
  4. Massive win,we are so lucky to have one of the best [ if not the best ] penalty taker in the country at this club, great to see Rickie made captain as well. Also well done to Artur Boruc, hopefully we we see the best of him for the rest of the season.Well, well pleased and we are due an iffy penalty decision as well,to make up for the ones that we have not been given, especially the Lallana one against Swansea.
  5. Only if we are relegated,as he is likely to score goals in the championship. [ Hopefully these scenario, will not happen ]
  6. Kelvin, has been terrific for this club, but he is not a premiership goal keeper, perhaps he is starting to realize that. The other problem is that Gazza needs time and although I think that Boruc, should stay in for now, none of the 3 keepers give me that much confidence. As for Butland,is he a better prospect than Gazza,I very much doubt it.
  7. We were excellent today and on chances alone, deserved to win.As for motm Yoshida is beginning to make me eat my own words and well done to him for that, however I thought that Luke Shaw was superb again today and probably shaded it.
  8. Ron Davies was as good in the air,as Terry Paine was crossing the ball.Says it all really,I doubt whether any Saints fan,who saw Ron Davies play, has ever or will ever see a better header of the ball.
  9. Well done to NC and the club for this, the man was he best crosser of a ball I have ever seen and for that reason and for his loyalty to the club [ Yes, I know from his book, that Ted Bates refused to sell him, when he wanted to leave ] this is very well deserved.
  10. That was as bad as it gets,Sunderland were there for the taking and we never put them under any sustained pressure the whole 90+ minutes. That really was a relegation type performance and we definately need some thing from the next two away games now.
  11. Congratulations Billy and Jade,I hope this really helps to ease the tragic loss of Luey.I lost a baby son 31 years ago and the pain never goes totally way,you just have to deal with it the best you can.
  12. Heart warming and well done to all the players and the club as well. Also heart wrenching to see children so unwell, lets hope that they all make a complete recoverey.

    Shaw

No wonder all the top clubs are after him,but as long as we stay up,he will hopefully be here for years to come and his composure for one so young,is absolutely remarkable.
  14. Fonte has been superb for the last couple of months and is definately changing my opinion on whether he is good enouugh to play in this league. He is stepping up to the plate, when it was imperative that he did and long may it continue. Hopefully we only need one central defender in January now and not two.
  15. Duncan asked a valid question, but some of you on here, seem to see hidden agendas into everything he says on here. If some of you cared about the club as much as him fair enough, but I very much doubt you do. As I understood his question,he wants Punch to be here for the foreseeable future and is perfectly within his rights to ask the question, had it been most other posters, they would not be queried at all.
  16. Major player for us now, well done to Punch and the club for both turning things around.
  17. I agree we need 6 points, but what I actually said, was that any thing less than 4 points and we are in real trouble. Not splitting hairs, perhaps I did not word it very well.
  18. Reading and Sunderland our next 2 [ home ] games are absolutely pivotal to our season.Anything less than 4 points and we really will be going into the new year,in a very precarious position. With Fulham and Stoke away over Christmas [ 2 very hard games ] and Arsenal at home on New Years day, with Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain coming back, that is another extremely hard game. [ it is difficult to see us picking up more than 3 ppoints from those 3 games ] Unless we are in touch on January 2nd,we will find it very hard to attract decent players and will face a very hard task to stay up.Maybe this is a very negative scenario, but unfortunately it maybe a prophetic one and if we do not get a minimum of 4 points in the next 2 games,it will be even more desperate. Any thoughts?
  19. Totaally with NC on this one,all football agents are parasites allegedly.

  21. Not having a premiership standard goalkeeper on the books,is a very dangerous game to play.
  22. 4 points out of 6,is okay, but with another calamitous goal conceded by Gazza,he has to come out of the firing line. The sad thing is,the other two keepers are not premiership standard either.
  23. The aerial part of Yoshida's game worries the hell out of me as well,he was not convincing against Newcastle at all. The trouble for me is that most of his headed clearances either go straight up in the air or do not generate enough power to become a good clearance and as for the clearance that failed to reach touch and sent Demba Ba away down the touchline. Why does he still pass back to Gazza so much? As far as I can see there is plenty of room for improvement and we definately need at least one class defender in january. I hold my hands help regarding Fonte, because I did not think he was a premier league defender, however he has been superb for the last few games.
  24. This must be seen as a major coup, well done to the club and it is fantastic that JWP sees his future at the club for at least the next 5 years.
  25. Delighted,if we can build on this performance, with our next two home games, things could really start to look up. Perhaps is the time to take Gazza out of the firing line,on todays performance,he is definately one for the future, I just feel we need experience behind the back 4 at present. [ Unless of course the players, prefer him in goal. Special word for Punch today, for he was superb by all accounts and I am delighted to see Rickie get on the score sheet and well done to Luke Shaw as well.
