qwertySFC replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
An excellent result , what ever was in that half time cup of tea I wouldn't mind some myself. Cant remember the last time I felt so pleased at the weekend with Saints , I am one of Jan s biggest critics but fair play to him this weekend ...lets all hope this can follow on now for the season... -
That is because we have a Pub team manager

Directors applaud Rupert for showing that he is personally putting money into the club, and proudly shows his £24 ticket for the game..

Is it these two..???

Interesting point of view....not personal experience though Steve

Maybe Jan is reminising about the good old days at Helmond Sport http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eerste_Divisie_2007-08 If you look at their league results for the above season , they thrashed some of the biggest teams in the Dutch league...
-
Maybe this is Chris Coleman explaining to his own fans , why they did not pick up all 3 points against a team who are in the bottom 3. Obviously makes him look better and justifing why they only got a point...maybe the Coventry fans will swallow that excuse..
-
Sounds like other teams are feeling sorry for poooooor old saints , Swans manager saying we were the hardest team they played...what a load of bo*loks I'h hate to see Swans play a crap team....what do they score then 10 goals...it is utter garbage...hang onto any positive they can , because in reality is SShiiite relegation form , and we are going down...but please keep spending your money cos you never know as Jan said we are going to get 6 wins from 10 games...do they really takes us for complete mugs ???

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/3807122.Saints_due_to_dish_out_a_hammering/ 12 Goals in 14 games ....talk about high hopes , are we now moving away from the target of winning 18 points in 10 games...sounds like were going to score in a minute...

How long until the first Lowe Out chant starts tomorrow?
qwertySFC replied to Huffton's topic in The Saints
Unfortunatly , ever time you step into SMS you are re enforcing to Rupert that his decisions are correct. The only way to send a message is to stay away from SMS , Rupert is not for turning on this one , he will use "the lunatic Fringe" to his element , saying that it only affects the team performance, these are youngsters and its destroying thier confidence ect ect..you will play right in to his hands by vocally abusing him in the ground. When Rupert knows that so few are interested in his brand / product only then will any change occur..IMO -
Lowe running Saints like a business- a misconception
qwertySFC replied to cambsaint's topic in The Saints
Good post , I firmly believe that the only way to gain RL attention is not to turn up at SMS. Protesting in the crowd , will automatically give Rupert ammunition to say " well the fans are getting to the players " hence why we lost , ect ect. Lambasting him from the terraces is a waste of time as he is not for turning .There is a dignity in a silent withdraw of support , 1 or two games with attendance down to a few thousand will be a more powerful message sent than any protest , lunatic fringe causing trouble. It will be painful , and there may be those who want to support these lads but there comes a time when the line has to be drawn ...for the sake of this once proud club...The most powerful message to the board is to stay away... -
I'm sure that we would walk that league..

And Gordon Strachan left for "family" reasons. On the other hand, it could be argued that replacing Paul Sturrock (main handicap: no managerial experience at Premiership level) with Steve Wigley (main handicap: no managerial experience at any level) was, at best, naive. Not that it's an argument Lowe will countenance. "I make no apology for giving people a go," he says. "If you don't give people a go then you end up with an ageing pool of managers, and nobody gaining the experience to take English football forward Brian Viner Interview

"I remember being at The Dell one evening when we lost 2-0 to Leeds United. We had one point after 10 games, and the whole stadium was chanting `Rupert Lowe's a ******!' That's not nice. I did wake up one night and say to my wife, `What am I doing this for?' But I am not someone who backs away from a situation." Brian Viner Interview
