  1. Doesn't matter. You're right the double Alpe stage should be great. However I see Froome saying on the BBC that the organisers should have the guts to cut it short and finish at the top of the Alpe first time if its very wet and dangerous for the descent tomorrow because let's be honest that's where the evil Contador will attack.
  2. That was amazing. What a ride! Chapeau Froomedog!
  3. Today should be great. The profile suits Froome and I can see him trying to get some more time out of his rivals on the Ventoux. Rest up tomorrow then get a bit more time in the TT Wednesday. Think the attacking is all at the end of the week. The Ventoux is a monster mind. I rode it on the Etape in 2009 and its on another planet. Hardest thing I've ever done.
  4. What an unexpectedly fantastic days racing today on a flat stage. Contador emerging as the potential real threat. Think Valverde is cooked. A great week and a bit ahead.
  5. Good point. Cav seems to be ending up having to do his own thing far too often. Be interesting to see if Omega get their act together later this week
  6. Today's crash. What do people think? Cav's drop of the shoulder makes me question his innocence. Think he's got a let off there.
  7. Great ride by Froome today. Interesting to see how he got isolated today. Next week pretty flat till Ventoux but very hard in third week. We'll see then if the other teams use today as a template for attacking in the Alps. Guess Froome will want to use Wednesday's ITT as a chance to widen the gap.
  8. Even living in Cardiff I have to remind people who G is. Drives me nuts. He lives up Cheshire way now but I bumped into him on a ride a couple of months back. He rode alongside and chatted for a bit then sped off. Can't see many top sportsmen doing that with a slow amateur. Absolute gent.
  9. Don't care if it seems like a procession. Remember the Indurain years? Thought Sky were great today particularly Porte and Kennuagh but Froomey was fantastic. The way he rode away was (dare I say it) like Armstrong on Alpe d'Huez. Tomorrow's stage got a great profile. I've ridden some of those climbs and they aren't easy. Just a shame it's not another summit finish!
  10. think they'll stay together until the last 3k or so then it'll be time for the GC attacks. If Sky get Froome in yellow today tomorrow will be very interesting - they'll want to control it but the others can't sit back and roll over like they did last
  11. Strangely dreamt last night we were playing Brighton in a public park with just one big stand and I was watching the game from behind the window of a shop sitting next to Billy Sharp.
  12. Was in Goteborg on business wednesday and went along - agree with both of you. Thought Anders had a good game (well better than he has for the National side for a while) - although he will never ever play as well as he did for us in the away game we won at Leicester 4-0 in whenever it was! The other thing is that though Malta were shocking they should have gone 1-0 up when Isaksson made that great double save after what 10-15 minutes. Zlatan was awful first half and whether it was Lagerback or whoever at half-time looked a different class second half (and took that goal very nicely) - you've got to say though once he stops playing he looks like he'll get very fat very quickly!
