Very sad news. My condolences go to his family and friends. RIP
-
Wasn't there a rumour that he was on the run?
-
I know what you mean, but wasn't Surman born in South Africa?
-
Wasn't Saeijs signed whilst Poortvliet was still here? Wotte may have been involved in the transfer though.
-
Saints TV has not worked for me for the past couple of games. I can log in, but I do not get any match commentary. I am wondering if they're even bothering to do it for today's games.
-
Can anyone please post a link on here? I am a Saints TV subscriber, but it doesn't seem to working (again).

It's supposedly a rebadge of 'Godfathers' but it's better than nothing. I remember they did a beer for the cup final too.

Crikey Keith! I know you said you were going to have a few pints, but I wasn't expecting this!! I hope they were good quality and you made notes! -
Like we didn't beat them 1-0 in February 2007 when Saganowski scored?!!??

Whilst we are talking about Ipswich players saying nice things about Saints, here is what Richard Wright said before the game. "Richard Wright hopes Southampton do enough to win their battle against the drop this season - but only after Tuesday's game. The Town 'keeper finished last season on loan at St Mary's from West Ham and played a leading role in the club's successful survival bid, making seven appearances. He has fond memories of his time there and speaking to the Club website he said: "I really enjoyed it at Southampton. "It was a tough spell in football terms because the club was fighting relegation from the Championship at the time so the games were tense but the club survived in the end and that was obviously fantastic. "Going there also enabled me to play first-team football every week and that is what I wanted. "I was staying down there during the week so I could sense the tension around the place, the pressure that was on the club and the players. I was aware they were obviously very important games but I was also aware that my livelihood wasn't really at stake because I was always going to go back to West Ham. "I loved it though, great support, great club and I was delighted to play my part in helping Southampton stay in the Championship. They are in a fight again to stay up this season and I hope that they can win it again but without taking any points from us."

webster and hockaday....a reply from the club

Yes, Keith used to play for us in the 80s. My Dad signed him for Basingstoke Town in 1990 and he played for Basingstoke until just after my Dad resigned. Saints then took him back on loan to help provide cover for some reserve games. -
I also remember Branfoot signing people like Paul Moody. He was rather prolific for Waterlooville but it was a big step up to the Prem. Having said that, he was rather successful in the lower leagues and Oxford United fans in particular hold him in high regard.
-
Yep, Souness signed Dryden. He also signed Van Gobbel (not bad whilst he was with us) and Graham Potter. Souness and McMenemy also set up the deal for Kevin Davies.
-
Delgado! Although I do not know enough about the guy to know whether he was already past his best when he joined us. He certainly did well in the 2006 World Cup. David Howells is another.
-
What about Arron Davies?

Controversial post alert - ignore if you like Lowe
eesti matty replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I think Lowe has always wanted to leave a legacy and be seen as a revolutionary thinker. He is just useless, out of his depth and someone who is incompetent at running a football club and understanding the fans. He never seems to learn from his mistake and I am fearful for our club's future with him at the helm. -
Good luck with the treatment. Keep fighting it.
-
4) I am pretty certain that the referee changed the ball for an orange one. It was snowing. Am I right?
-
I think he "resigned". I don't believe for one minute that Lowelife would admit to sacking him. It's just like with Sturrock, "Mutual Consent".
-
Wotte's appointment that is
-
SSN have just confirmed it's a permanent measure. Does Lowe ever learn?

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years

"Fortune favours the brave" circa Autumn 2004 -
I thought that parts of his commentary were good but could not believe it when he said that Sheffield Wednesday have not beaten us since 1998 when Carbone scored the winner. I am not sure if that game was away or not (maybe he should have said we've been unbeaten at home) but did I just imagine our 5-0 defeat last season? Will Cope does do a bit of work for some foreign satellite channels as I heard him commentate on a Hull City game recently.
-
Well, it certainly wasn't me that said it
-
It was against Leeds, we lost 3-0 and Michael Bridges scored a hatrick.
