I remember that back in 99 we tried to sign David Wetherall from Leeds. He was reluctant to move down from the north and opted to join Bradford. We then signed Dean Richards instead and he gave us two seasons good service and we made a tidy profit out of him. It's a real shame what happened to him. Also, I remember when we nearly signed a guy called Matt Piper from Leicester? He joined Sunderland, but then had to retire because of injury.
