My brother and I are season ticket holders and both have our tickets (arrived today-wahoo!) I would desperately love to get tickets for my dad though who got my brother and I into the saints 40 years ago. He has moved to Torquay now and hasn't attended a game this season. If anyone is able to get two tickets or knows a way without getting stung for £400 a ticket on the internet I would be hugely grateful!

Are the specs being adjusted a clue to being Blind?
-
OK- I like the idea of Koeman and feel he is the big name the club needs but I don't really know enough about him. Does anyone think he is an upgrade on MP or are we all in the position where we won't know until part way through the season- what are your thoughts?

#itshappeningbutnotthewayyouexpecteditsaintsfanCaM Poyet has signed a new deal at Sunderland! Wahoo!

Ok - I am prepared to get slated for this but although the players loved him and I thought he did well, I think that he isn't as great as it seems when you analyse our season for the following reasons: 1. He had 4 England internationals and 6 other internationals at his disposal- 8th should have been the minimum he achieved! 2. In a number of games he started Jos and Fox together- any saints fan could tell you that would be a disaster! 3. We lost more points from winning positions than any other team this season 4. We rolled over twice to a poor Sunderland team in both cups 5. He failed miserably with his management of our supposed star player in Osvaldo 6. In a large number of matches I watched us have huge amounts of possession and fail to turn this into goals 7. The Sunderland and Spurs away games saw us 2-0 up in both and instead of closing those games out we allowed both teams to get back into the game. Once this happened we rolled over in both matches and had no way of stemming the tide. 8. He let Puncheon go who I think would have been a great option in a number of matches and I think we will regret letting him go I therefore think there are a number of managers out there that would continue to improve us and that he will fail in his new project at spurs (I hope!!)

Just gets better and better. Our best player today IMO and I can't believe how much he has developed this season!

1-1 now

Might sound a daft question, but anyone else think our season tickets might be cheaper next year with NC gone?

but whose side do you think dear Markus would be on?

Think there might be a chance that Fonte might be out- my mate was at Southampton Bupa on Tuesday and Fonte was also there seeing an orthopaedic specialist.

Deano was my favourite player for a few years- great captain. -
One of my favourite players for a few seasons- good luck to you Deano!

First half we looked quite good- Lovren and VW look really good signings. Lallana played well, JRod looks sharp and MS looked class. Second half we lost our way a bit with the changes. K Davis was pretty poor, Fox not good enough and we looked very average until Punch came on. Overall I would say if we can field our strongest team, we can push for the top half of the table, but the team we had out in the second half would be in another relegation battle. Need another CB and a LB minimum IMO if we really are going to kick on. If we start with a back 4 of Fox, Jos, Lovren and Chambers, we will get stuffed at WBA I reckon.

I'm flitting between anxious, wet willy and composed and cocksure...

Right I am feeling fairly confident for the following reasons- even if we don't get another point, there is a good chance that Norwich and QPR might not win next week. If either of them lose or draw then I think they will finish below us as they have tough last games that I can't see them winning. Failing that, as long as Wigan lose to Arsenal and Villa to Chelsea, then they will both be going into the game needing a win to be sure of staying up and in fact Wigan could leapfrog villa if they beat them, so a villa win or even a draw would keep us up on GD.
