  1. Having been a saints fan for the past 38 years, I do take offence at the comments made by some that women should not be at matches. Although there are some women who should never step inside a football ground! A couple of seasons ago there was some woman with her boyfriend who turned and asked him "Which one is Bradley Wright-Philips! Then there was the one last season at the Man Utd game who asked "Who's their no. 5 he's quite good (Rio Ferdinand). Not sure what was worse, her commenting at how good Ferdinand was or the fact that she didn't know one of the most well known footballers in the country.
  2. One area where the club is making a huge increase is in the centre blocks on u17 renewals. My son's renewal in block 34 as a 10 yr old last season was £184. This season his ticket as an u17 would be £446. Think this is really unfair. I know it has to go up but this is an increase of over £250!
  3. Thought you might be interested to know that the actor who played Danny Sullivan is actually Southampton born and bred and went to Bitterne Park School. He is also my cousin.
  4. Chances are Wiseman will be there. Looks like he still has the nerve to attend Saints matches. I saw him in the car park after the Hartlepool match on Tuesday.
  5. I think it really is hit or miss as far as online applications are concerned. We tried to book online during the ST holders week. Despite the fact that there were nine ST holders on the application, along with seven extras, we were told that we didn't have permission to purchase tickets at that time. Consequently, we had to buy over the phone, adding another £48 to the cost.
  6. I've just tried to register, and am being told that there is already a customer with my details. Obviously not me, as I have never bought tickets on line before. I've e-mailed the ticket office but it's a bit worrying. I've got to try to buy for nine other people as well!
  7. Cost of travel to Wycombe match (69 miles) is £14. Wembley is 78 miles. Can't see how they can justify £11 more for the sake of another 9 miles. It's going to cost £75 for me and my two boys before we buy tickets. Not doing much to encourage families when a lot of people will be struggling to find the money to go anyway. By the way, we do all have season tickets, so I'm not a one match a season person complaining.
  8. Bit like the silly mare sitting behind me on Boxing Day. Turned round and asked her boyfriend where Bradley Wright-Philips was!! She also started singing about Jesus. Her boyfriend informed her that he no longer played for us, but she said she would sing it anyway because she really liked him.
  9. In the team line up for last Saturday, according to the Echo we had two players with the surname of James. My 12 year old son picked that mistake up.
  10. We have gained one child supporter this season. I'm Southampton born and bred but was living in Kent when my eldest son was born. We were there until he was seven. Unfortunately he got it into his head that he wanted to support Liverpool (our local team was Gillingham so you can understand why he showed no interest there). However, we moved back to Southampton four years ago and and slowly he came round to my way of thinking and he now has a season ticket with me!
