We need... MLT for links with fans - nothing else; anyone who thinks he can run a football club or is remotely interested in or suited to in coaching / management just hasn't been paying attention for the past 5 years TL for links with money man - nothing else; the man can't even set up a web site or write a coherent letter. I hope to hell that the money man has the sense to see that we need a seriously talented chief executive to run the club - it's a business - and an experienced, well connected (in L1 /CCC - not Sky TV) and well qualified coach to run the team.

MLT" ...I hope whoever the new owners are, they have the sense to put in charge of the club someone with the skills to run the club - not someone with a set of amazing - but totally irrelevant - skills.

Absolutely agree. Cork is a better player and full-back than James. Pearce is more suited to brick sh*thouse Championship strikers than Cork. No brainer.

Ron Reynolds. 1960's? Especially under floodlights. His warm-up consisted of squinting and massaging his eyes to get his early prototype contact lenses used to the glare. Priceless.

Yes we played really good football Yes Schneiderlin was imperious Yes Gillett was a Duracel bunny. Yes, some of the youngsters (James, Lallana, Holmes) were very good. Yes Kelvin did a fine job - as he often does. But, although we should have scored 3, we could have conceded 3 in the first half. And we do need to finish better 1-0 is never good enough. Ok, so some people are already itching to say I'm pouring cold water on a good performance. I'm not saying we weren't good. I'm saying there are some people on this thread who are getting things out of perspective. Good performance. Important for confidence. But there were weaknesses (Surman was one) and stronger sides will exploit them if we just gloss over them.

Just back from match. Great win. Could have conceded 2 or 3 goals in the first half - and scored 2 or 3 ourselves - including 3 nicely created one-on-ones. Surman leaking at our end. Second half, they got worse. We could have scored several times before one went in. We then played lovely football, especially up the right. Cork looked good at RB; he doesn't look big enough for a Championship CB to me. We fluffed a number of chances to go 2 up. All the time, expecting them to get one back. Eventually time ran out. Sch'lin imperious in the second half; L'a and McG clever inter-play; James useful coming forward; G'tt indefatigable. Great win.
