Just found the Sky Sports link - which says Boyle, Paterson and Thomson agreed new deals. I assume that means signed as well. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5389224,00.html

Boyle, along with Paterson, Mills and Thomson were all offered new contracts. I've not seen anything to confirm they have signed them (in fact the OS hasn't even reported the offer - the news about Boyle, Paterson and Thomson was on Sky Sports' website). As far as I know, Jamie White's and Lloyd James' contracts also expired today - unless they signed extensions. There is an outside chance they did last season. Perhaps the OS failed to report it...

I agree, it's an improvment. It's also been updated to show most of the players returning from loan although Michael Byrne has not been added back to the list after his loan to Bognor finished - does anyone know if he's been released (he was out of contract I think)? I see that Jack Boyle and Jack Saville are both now included in the squad listing (number 30 and 38 respectively) and that Andrej Pernecky's shown as a striker! I assume this is an error and not a reaction to the fact that we already have four other 'keepers! There's a much fuller list of Academy players as well - though no profiles yet.

I agree with Matthew Le God that it would be useful to track the academy as well as the first team (given how important they are likely to be). From his list, Steven Page from the above list was released very early in the season. And it makes you wonder why we went to the bother of recalling Jamie White from Shrewsbury - not even made the squad let alone the team. Given he only had a week or so left of his loan, seems a fairly pointless recall.

I saw him play for Shrewsbury against Wycombe just before Christmas (it's a long story!). He came on as a second half sub and made a big difference. He was lively, pacy, got to by by-line and put in some excellent crosses. But Shrewsbury had no one on the end of the crosses - the same problem we'll have. By the way although there's no article on the OS yet, White was taken out of the squad listing earlier this week (presumably because someone realised belatedly that he should have been taken out when he went on loan in November). He's back in the list this morning. (Of course taking players out of the list who are on loan is not always followed as Michael Byrne has been on loan at Bognor Town for several weeks and is still listed on the OS.) Chris Nicholl and Mark Wright - the best two CBs I have seen in a Saints shirt but also two players whose style of play complemented each other. Michael Svensson is very close behind and I rate Malcolm Waldron (one of the first ever winners of the player of the season) very highly as well. If I were picking two teams, those are the four CBs I'd choose. But there again, I voted for Steve Mills for left back and he's not made the top two.

Who is Boyle (second from the end of the list)?

The OS has updated the squad page. Gasmi has been added and so have squad numbers for him, Pulis and Ryan Smith. Imudia and Byrne have been added back to the first team page and Steven Page has been removed from the U18 list. Why has Rasiak appeared back on the OS list? I could understand it if it were Poke as he's returned from Torquay early owing to injury. But Rasiak's on a season long loan. No sign of Romain Gasmi being listed (the guy we signed on deadline day). I assume the deal went through and it's all gone quiet because he's injured?

It's a tough call if it really was a direct choice - which fortunately it isn't. Having though long and hard and weighed up all the options, I'd opt to start with 10 men.

Good stuff. One to add - Racine is number 38. Pekhart at 16 seems a reasonable guess, although 5 and 31 are also available and I suppose be could take 9 given that Rasiak's loan is season long (same goes for 25).
