The Premier League has published the full 25 man squads (in our case 24 man squad) for each PL side plus list of all scholars Premer League 25 man squads plus scholars 25 Squad players (*=Home grown) Alves Soares, Cedric Ricardo *Bertrand, Ryan *Caulker, Steven Roy Clasie, Jordy *Davis, Kelvin Geoffery *Davis, Steven Fonte, Jose Miguel *Forster, Fraser Gerard Gardos, Florin Gazzaniga, Paulo Dino *Isgrove, Lloyd Jeffrey Jimenez Lopez, Juan Miguel *Long, Shane Patrick Mane, Sadio Martina, Rhu-endly Aurelio Jean-Carlo Pelle, Graziano Ramirez Pereyra, Gaston Exequiel *Rodriguez, Jay Enriqus Stekelenburg, Maarten Tadic, Dusan Van Dijk, Virgil Vidal, Oriol Romeu Wanyama, Victor Yoshida, Maya Under-21 players (Contract and Scholars) Bakary, Mohamed Richard Barnes, Marcus Thomas Britt, William David Clinton, Kyle Cook, Oliver David Paul Cull, Benjamin Simon Cvjeticanin, Oskar Debayo, Joshua Akinkunmi Flannigan, Jake Gallagher, Samuel James Gape, Dominic Edward Hallett, Jake Hesketh, Jake Alexander Isted, Harvey James Duke Johnson, Tyreke Martin Jones, Alfie Kayembe, Carel Langan, Connor John Lea, Joseph William Lewis, Harry Charles John Little, Armani McCarthy, Jason Sean McQueen, Samuel James Mdlalose, Siphesihle Thembinkosi Mugabi, Bevis Kristofer Kizito Murray, Joshua Musendo, Rugare David Nlundulu, Dan Olomola, Olufela Osborn, Neal Paul Sean Reed, Harrison James Rowthorn, Ben John Seager, Ryan Paul Sims, Joshua Samuel Slattery, Callum Stephens, Jack Targett, Matthew Robert Thomas, Archie Alexander Turnbull, Jordan Robert Ward-Prowse, James Michael Edward Wilkin, Stuart John Willard, Harley Bryn Wood, William Nicholas Does anyone know who the bolded players are? They weren't included in the 11 new scholars announced on the OS on 29 July, which included Yann Valery and Thomas O'Connor who are not listed by the Premier League. Hopefully the OS will update the U18 profiles soon. While the OS has massively improved over the last couple of years in virtually every respect, the youth player profiles always seems to be very out of date. At present it omits all the new scholars and other recent additions and even one 2nd year scholar.

Still nothing for Marcus Barnes strangely - the only development squad player without one. Willard is the only scholar with a number (he has signed a pro contract).

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Over land and sea replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Updated once again to reflect some recent developments e.g. Stephens' contract extension, 1st year scholar details, Caulker's arrival, loan deals for Stephens and Gallagher, confirmed squad numbers -
Southampton Europa League squad 2015-16 The A and B lists (rosters) have now been published on the UEFA website. The B list (18 players) contains anyone in the first team or development squad who is under 21 apart from Will Britt and Marcus Barnes who have been omitted completely. There was some mention in one of the blogs linked above that Barnes may not have been eligible for the B list so that might explain his omission. Gallagher is included as the list (roster) was finalised before his loan move. The A list (21 players) contains the rest of the first team squad excpet Gardos (long term injury) and Mayuka (out of favour/leaving). In terms of the 25 man squad for the Premier League, the current position is that we have 23 players, 8 of whom are home grown and 15 non-home grown. So we can still sign 2 more non-home grown players, 3 if Mayuka leaves before the registration deadline. 1. Kelvin Davis HG 2. Cédric Soares 3. Maya Yoshida 4. Jordy Clasie 5. Florin Gardos 6. Jose Fonte 7. Shane Long HG 8. Steven Davis HG 9. Jay Rodriguez HG 10. Sadio Mané 11. Dusan Tadic 12. Victor Wanyama 15. Cuco Martina 19. Graziano Pellè 20. Juanmi 21. Ryan Bertrand HG 22. Marteen Stekelenburg 23. Gastón Ramírez 25. Paulo Gazzaniga 26. Steven Caulker HG 27. Lloyd Isgrove HG 44. Fraser Forster HG Emmanuel Mayuka

http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2016/clubs/club=52923/squad/index.html UEFA site now contains a list of our players registered for the Europa League and includes squad numbers for all of the Development Squad apart from Will Britt and Marcus Barnes (perhaps indicating they are going out on loan? Alternatively, 37 and 43 are not used and perhaps Britt and Barnes are omitted in error - Britt was number 43 last season). The full list, with the new squad numbers bolded, is: Goalkeepers 1 Kelvin Davis 22 Maarten Stekelenburg 25 Paulo Gazzaniga 41 Harry Isted * 44 Fraser Forster Defenders 2 Cédric 3 Maya Yoshida 6 José Fonte 15 Cuco Martina 21 Ryan Bertrand 24 Jack Stephens* 29 Bevis Mugabi* 30 William Wood* 32 Jason Mccarthy* 33 Matt Targett* 35 Joshua Debayo* 36 Jordan Turnbull* Midfielders 4 Jordy Clasie 8 Steven Davis 10 Sadio Mané 12 Victor Wanyama 16 James Ward-Prowse* 18 Harrison Reed* 20 Juanmi 23 Gaston Ramirez 27 Lloyd Isgrove 31 Armani Little* 34 Jake Flannigan* 42 Jake Hesketh* 46 Dominici (!!) Saints Europa squad - A list players The official UEFA site has published our list of A list players for the Europa League qualifying stage. Points to note: 20 players Mayuka or Gardos excluded but all other other over 21 players included B list not yet published but will presumably include many (all?) of the U21s, certainly Reed, Stephens, Turnbull, McQueen, McCarthy, Targett, Gallagher and JWP.

That's because I'd not heard of him and I missed his name when I originally read the report - thanks. I assume he's one of the new 1st year scholars. I see from a Google search that he made his debut for the U18s in April. I've edited my post to include Mdlalose.
-
There is a report on the OS U21 v Bournemoth OS report - albeit it once again omits the line-ups. It was against Bournemouth, BTW, and ended 0-0. I wasn't there but can piece together from the OS report and Twitter that 10 of the starters were: Britt, Cull, Gape, Rowthorn, Wood, Gallagher, Little, Barnes, Trialist, Mdlalose There were at least 8 subs, 4 of whom were Isted, Cook, Slattery and Olomola. Willard also played at some point. I would assume that Hesketh and Sims were probably involved too. Maybe some trialists were also involved (there was at least one) which is perhaps why the OS is being coy. Or perhaps all the media team are in Holland and whoever wrote the report doesn't know all the names!
-
That's quite an injury list, particularly defensively, given we've yet to start the season (4 first team squad plus 3 U21s): Forster Gardos Bertrand Ramirez (minor) Mugabi Seager Flannigan

We may decide to alloocate squad numbers to some or all of the younger players when we submit our Europa League squad list (due no later than tomorrow), which can contain a unlimited number of B list** players. Europa league rules My reading is that it's probably not essential because you can add B list players up to 24 hours before a match but any player we do register has to be allocated a squad number at the time of registration. The club may opt to register the entire U21 squad in case any are needed at any stage in the competition. **A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. West Ham appear to have registered their entire playing squad West Ham Europa Squad

Does anyone have the Saints U18 line-ups, please? It wasn't included on the OS From the OS report and the above posts I've worked out 7 of the starting 11 and 6 of the 10 subs Isted (sub Hallett at HT) Langan (sub Gape) Cvjeticanin (sub Wood) Slattery (sub Little) Olomola (sub Barnes) Hesketh Johnson (sub Wilkin) Possibly 9 out of the following Sims Gallagher Bakary Clinton Cook Jones Lea Willard Kayembe Cull Rowthorn Musendo N'Lundulu
-
Yes he did - here is the link to the line-up. Line-up I don't think we can regard the numbers as definitive - I doubt Debayo will get 14 for example - but it's probably accurate for the new signings. If the numbers were all correct, that does indeed leave just 13 and 18 free until you get to 29, with at least one new signing to come (and Ramirez will need a number if he stays). If Stephens' number is confirmed that may indicate Mayuka's exit as he's been number 24 since his arrival.
-
Have edited original post having found out numbers of today's subs on the Sky Sports website.
-
Nothing confirmed yet but the players appeared to be wearing squad numbers (without names on their shirts) today - giving an indication of the likely numbers for most of the new players. Most of last season's squad were unchanged on last year. The new players wore: 2 Cédric Soares 4 Jordy Clasie 15 Cuco Martina 20 Juanmi 22 Stekelenburg 14 Josh Debayo (new to first team) Players with different numbers to last season: 17 (was 38 ) Sam McQueen 26 (was 36) Jordan Turnbull 24 (was 35) Jack Stephens

The Premier League website list is a good guide but not fully up to date. It omits Osvaldo, Stekelenburg for example, and has Isgrove and Stephens in the wrong list. It also includes players we've released such as Hooiveld, Boruc and Cropper. If we had to name the list tomorrow (which, of course, we don't), I believe the 25 man squad would have to be all the players contracted to us who are over 21 (because we don't have more than 25). So it would be: 25 man squad 1. Kelvin Davis HG 2. Nathaniel Clyne HG 3. Maya Yoshida 4. Morgan Schneiderlin HG 5. Florin Gardos 6. Jose Fonte 7. Shane Long HG 8. Steven Davis HG 9. Jay Rodriguez HG 10. Sadio Mané 11. Dusan Tadic 12. Victor Wanyama 19. Graziano Pellè 21. Ryan Bertrand HG 23. Fraser Forster HG 24. Emmanuel Mayuka 25. Paulo Gazzaniga 27. Lloyd Isgrove HG - Cédric Soares - Marteen Stekelenburg - Gastón Ramírez - Juanmi - Osvaldo So that's 23 players, 14 of which are not home grown Under 21 players All players born on or after 1 January 1994 16. James Ward-Prowse 28. Harrison Reed 32. Jason McCarthy 33. Matt Targett 34. Jake Flannigan 35. Jack Stephens 36. Jordan Turnbull 38. Sam McQueen 40. Sam Gallagher 42. Jake Hesketh 43. Will Britt 45. Ryan Seager 46. Dominic Gape Harry Isted Bevis Mugabi Will Wood Joshua Debayo Armani Little Josh Sims Marcus Barnes Plus all new and existing scholars, including: Jake Hallett Richard Bakary Kyle Clinton Ollie Cook Alfie Jones Oskar Cvjeticanin Tyreke Johnson Callum Slattery Joe Lea Stuart Wilkin Harley Willard Olufela Olomola Carel Kayembe

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Over land and sea replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Updated again to reflect recent signings. I make that five 'keepers out of contract at the end of the season! -
The full retained list is now on the Premier League website. The only thing of (slight) interest I noted was that one of the 2nd year scholars - Colm Deasy - is neither retained nor relased (or listed as a scholar). I don't know the answer to your question but I've added to the first list those scholars such as Callum Slattery who have played for U18s this season but are not yet 1st or 2nd year scholars (well not according to the OS anyway). Yes, and the "by year" list does not include the academy players. I assume decisions will be needed on many (the majority?) of 2nd year scholars this year. Now added - good point. -
What's our official 25-man squad?
Over land and sea replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
The OS squad listing now shows Reed and McQueen with last season's squad numbers rather than the ones they were allocated this season (28 and 38 respectively). We don't need to list any players in our 25 man squad who are on season long loans - so Jos and Gaston can be omitted. Similarly Stephens and Sinclair (too young).
