i dont know why you are hell bent on comparing then to now. if the regime hadnt changed our attendances in L1 and champ would probably have been a lot lower. With the right structure, management and ambition more would come support us. This perceived unchangeable base of fans cannot be true. Clubs and fans evolve.

The team was truly uninspiring tonight. i ended up watching an idiot abroad 2. bringing the mediocre lampard on, and rooney being sent off is typical. we will go to the finals as we had an easy peasy group. we will get knocked out at the second round, and the merry go round will start again. boring boring stuff. Totally agree. I have no affinity to other clubs. foreigners find it mystifying that i dont like any prem team at all. I was putting this into an international context, to which being born in england means I will support them against any other country, no matter what. Club football is different, obviously man u and pompey are 2 great examples of this

I have been out of the country for near 3 years. in that time i lost a mate in this way. one punch to the face, cracked skull on kerb and instantly died. lad from dewsbury on a night out in sheffield was the perpetrator. After the attack he went on to a brothel, and then next day turned himself in. unprovoked attack outside a bar. the guy got 3 years for it, which i found to be far too soft I return this month, and to be honest am feeling quite apprehensive hearing all this stuff. I always believed that trouble only found those looking for it, but not sure about that these days.

Same for me. I am not unhappy. Even more so that it's the last game i will be in Korea for. Looking forward to getting back to the uk and actually getting to some games and the rest being at times I can always tune in. Having said that being able to see beyond my nose at 1am on a saturday night is no easy task though.
