I have a big soft spot for the Patrick design as it's the first Saints shirt I ever owned, so I like it.
-
Looks like next season's shirt might be closely modelled on the classic Patrick shirts from the mid-80s (if this is to be believed). https://thekitman.co.uk/southampton-2017-18-home-shirt-leaked/

Did anyone see the game? Been overshadowed by Rashford in the press today but on the radio last night they were raving about Redmond, saying he was behind a lot of the good attacking work, setting up at least two goals and hitting the post.
-
How would you compare them with the years when we were perennially struggling against relegation with Le Tiss practically keeping us up single handed? Because that is still my deeply ingrained idea of a normal Saints season, not finishing 8th, 7th and 6th in successive years.

Saints ran out of money and could not sign Eriksen

What a terrific thread. Pure gold. -
Why not bring a Dutch international free agent in as CB cover? Sounds feasible to me.
-
If we could sign Clasie it would soften the blow. Him and Wanyama would be a pretty serious midfield combination.

Deserved win for the Shots last night. I hope they go on to a have a much needed lucrative run. The blue few were treated to the heaviest police presence I've ever seen at the Rec, including at least half a dozen horses.

A "servant" who is on money most people can only dream about, and who was only prevented from flouncing off in the summer by the club playing hardball. And now he's making noises about leaving again, even with things going as well as they are. He should just be a professional and keep his mouth shut. The phrase "servant to the club" is obsolete, certainly when it comes to playing staff.

He has been commercial manager at my local side Aldershot for a few seasons and has done a great job in difficult circumstances. Am sorry to see him go.

Meant to quote Wade Garrett in that last post.

I think you are probably right, the bookies are laying off their exposure to Koeman. I just put £25 on him at 7/4 with Bet Victor, refreshed the page and he was instantly in to 5/4.

What a bunch of bedwetters. Let's wait and see if this actually happens. Some of the abuse the board are getting on here is unbelievable, from people who have no clue what's going on behind the scenes and are just guessing. Quick reality check needed, we haven't actually sold any players yet.

She has removed the tweet now as well - if this does turn out to be a load of ******** it just goes to show how bad the sports media is.

Let's also remember - if the impeding "meltdown" happens and we sell Lallana, Rodriguez, Lovren, and Shaw, we'll still have the nucleus of a good squad plus around £75 million+ in the bank. If the board release a good chunk of that to bring in replacements and we make a good managerial appointment things could be looking rosy. I might feel differently tomorrow when I've sobered up but that's my take on it right now.

Would be great but none of the bookies are even offering odds on de Boer so seems unlikely. This makes for depressing reading IMO: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager

Keep up, they've sold all our best players, we're doomed, meltdown etc......oh no, hang on.

Jumping to a lot of conclusions there based on what you have just admitted was the gossip section. You wouldn't want Saints to go in and pay asking price for a player without negotiating would you? So why expect any other club not to haggle?
-
Good player for us and wish him well. But why do people still describe players who earn tens of thousands a week as servants?

Not such a pedant for spelling though - it's encapsulating. -
Now KL will hopefully be introducing a less dictatorial style of management of the club with the strongly rumoured appointment of John Williams as CEO, I reckon we could be in for a return to the red and white stripes sooner rather than later. Williams is a longtime Saints fan and I'm sure most of us would like to see the stripes come back. The red kit did smack a little of NC's determnation to do things his way regardless of what anyone else thought. As much as I have enjoyed most of this spell in the Prem I still can't get used to the red kit.

Ah yes, the cardinal sin of football, not giving the ball away enough.

So Pochettino has stolen Niemi's hat?

Sounds a bit worrying - I saw Spurs u21 beat Chelsea u21 4-2 last week, and the scoreline flattered Chelsea who didn't look great.
