  1. No, it means he's exasperated with the *please let me know a non-insulting way to describe the whining, self-entitled muppets who basically refuse to let anything that happens on the pitch get in the way of their views*. As far as I can work out from the whining I've heard at games this season, boring football is basically not scoring, which whilst we have a massive problem putting the ball in the net, that does not equate to boring football. If you want to know what boring football is, you only had to go to the West Brom game the other week, Pulis-ball is practically the definition of boring football, and we play absolutely nothing like them.
  2. I genuinely think the opposite is true, his body looks fine, he just doesn't currently believe that he can score, so writing him off now would be daft.
  3. If you want to add standing around letting Koscielny get five yards away from him for the first Arsenal goal, and letting Arnautovich get in front of him for the Stoke away goal last season, and I'll be very surprised to see him go to a top club until he's cut those basic mistakes out. I can only imagine the meltdown on here if Yoshida had made those errors.
  4. There's a fast direct train from Verona to Milan, might be cheaper to get that?
  5. The Inter criteria include away games this season, don't they?
  6. Did he play centre half? He is wearing the number 5 shirt, and seems to be in one of the centre half positions on the BBC Sport line-up, but I dont know the Walsall squad well enough to say for sure.
  7. Cheers! I thought I'd read it somewhere, so was rather surprised to see the fixture list as it was!
  8. Given this, I take it we can assume that the following fixtures will be moved, even though they haven't on the official site? SAT 1 OCT Leicester (A) SAT 22 OCT Man City (A) SAT 5 NOV Hull City (A) SAT 26 NOV Everton (H) SAT 10 DEC Middlesbrough (H)
  9. But Everton are a massive club who invented the dugout, how can they lose one of their best young players? Does he not understand the history of the place?
  10. Look, I'm more than happy to have an argument (just ask anyone who knows me!), but at least argue based on what I said. I expect us to attempt to play as well as *we* can, especially against teams as poor as that, but we were sloppy and complacent in those three matches. The Everton game, in particular, could be the one that puts paid to our European chances, but all three should have allowed us to improve our goal difference to better than the three teams above us.
  11. Well, since I've moved up to Birmingham in 2000, I've yet to witness a good game of football involving Saints against any of the Midlands teams, and that didn't change yesterday. The strangest atmosphere I've ever experienced in a ground seemed to lead to a poor performance from both the team and our fans. Longs finishing is infuriatingly inconsistent, Tadic hung Soares out to dry; you can get away with no defending if you're in the No. 10 position, but when you're playing right wing, you can't. The midfield managed to not track that goal machine Westwood, leading to their two goals. I was disappointed with our performances against Newcastle and Everton, and that was more of the same, so whilst I'm hoping for much improved levels against Man City and Spurs, I can't say that I'm that hopeflul they will materialise.

  13. Good shout. I phoned them up, and it turns out that they do take all uncollected tickets up with them, so I can pick them up from the ground. Thanks for the suggestion!
  14. Appreciate the offer, but I was really after getting another away game on our season tickets, plus I'm not sure my boy will forgive me if I go without him!
  15. I went to buy them for me and my son this evening, there are a few restricted view seats left, but you can only get the tickets from St Mary's, which is a round trip from Birmingham that isn't happening! I realise I have left it late, but surprised I can't pick them at the ground on the day. Oh well.
  16. Davies pulled him back, could see it clear as day from the Chapel, definite card.
  17. Poch/Spurs got *very* lucky with Kane, I think it's fair to say that no-one saw his rapid development coming, I don't know how much was true about the rumours that he was looking to ship him out, but he certainly did seem reluctant to through him in to the first team. Take him out of that side, and they'd be a lot lower.
  18. Bloody hell, wasn't expecting to turn up in a photo on here with Malc! I honestly haven't got the faintest idea where or when that was taken! 2003 onwards, judging from the hair, could well be The Anchor, as someone suggested, would make it most likely a trip to St Andrews, at a guess. What I most remember about Malc was how daft he thought the fuss that was made about him flying over from Philly for games, I think I'm remembering his view correctly that as he had the money and the time to do it, it wasn't anything anyone else wouldn't have done in the same situation. Not sure I agreed with his modesty, to be honest! Like everyone else, I'm shocked at the news. Annoyingly, I can't actually remember the last time we crossed paths, but no doubt he would have produced a fine impression of a man who was happy to see someone he knew before listening to me jibber on about Saints. My condolences to his family, as others have said, it's far too young.
  19. I'm not sure what game you were watching on Saturday, but JWP did a lot of pressing and harying.

    MOTD

There were also only two games this weekend that weren't on a Saturday, so they had more matches than usual to show on the Saturday.

    Fonte

Not sure how anyone else was to blame for him completely selling himself for the goal last night, that was his mistake alone, pure and simple. I think the fact that Lovren, Toby and Fonte have struggled without Morgan in front of them speaks volumes.
  22. Because his passing ability is not good enough for them. They really should have bought Morgan, no idea why Wenger passed on him.
  23. I'm suggesting that our main problem was that we went on a scoring slump, with one goal in five matches in February, and that was a far bigger contributor to our losing out on a higher position than our defensive midfielder situation. If we'd put away some of the chances we'd created, then letting in the goals we did wouldn't have been an issue. I find it strange that, given how Koeman praised Reed for his performance in the Everton game, he seemed determined not to pick him to cover our defensive midfielders.
  24. We also lost three games we had the upper hand in 1-0, as well as drawing a blank in the 0-0 at home with West Ham, so I'm sticking with those being more important than those two away goals.
  25. As we missed out on fifth mainly because we stopped scoring, I'm not sure how Cork would have helped with that.
