  1. This: My nipper & his band of pre uni time wasters are waiting until Thursday, there's nearly 20 of them, a mixture of STHs, members & non members. Pleased they won't be sat near me though :-)
  2. This is the nub of the problem. They are the bane of a Structural Engineers (and many other professions) life, they usually have very little concept of the effects of their constant meddling.
  3. What a genius Burt Bacharach is. I don't think there was a song in that set that I didn't know, now watching it for the second time, fabulous stuff.
  4. It's good for my son who has been a STH for 10 years, but is intending to go to uni in September, so hasn't renewed, it means he will have first bite of the cherry for matches when he is home.
  5. Nice effort, but not up to the standard of the guy who told Radio Solent that we need Redknapp back as manager.
  6. That is a bit weird, laying there with your old man being pulled around by a bloke (in my case) & chatting to a female nurse about holidays, weather, kids schools etc.
  7. Used to go on Friday nights from about '88, loved the place. I'm looking forward to getting along sometime soon(ish). The only problem is if I get ****ed nowdays, it completely wipes me out for 24 hrs :-(
  8. So far I have : Judas c**t S**thead w@ nker prat c**t bear f**khead Yid tw @ t scumbag and Hiya.
  9. Maybe, but it's worth making a plan. We had 6 night & didn't get to any of the museums, that's for next time without the kids, but do get the NYC pass I mentioned, we saved a small fortune.
  10. I built an extension on my place, like you at weekends & evenings, all I needed to do was inform them, they didn't ask for details, but did add 30 quid onto my premium.
  11. Went in August & stayed at The Hamilton Inn in Manhatten, pretty basic, much like a Premier Inn, but it does do a breakfast within the price, which is quite unusual in NYC, and is only a block or 2 from the subway. If you're doing the touristy stuff, get one of these http://www.newyorkpass.com/En/ it'll save you a fortune. Get to The Empire State early before about 9.30 & you'll go straight in, much later & you'll be queuing for ever, same with the Statue Of Lib. Do the Top Of The Rock after dark & you get a spectacular view of The Emp State. Be prepared for a lot of walking.
  12. No probs. As an addition to The Colonels list, make sure your insurance company is aware that you are having structural work done to your property.
  13. Ok, sort of sporadically read through it whilst fielding phone calls & getting hassle from my boss, guess what about......yep foundation design.
  14. Foundations are generally 1m deep & 600mm wide, but this is dependent upon ground conditions, such as quality of the bearing soil, site slope, proximity of trees, type of soil, for example if you have clay soil you may need to take precautions to avoid heave, this is all something the Building Inspector will advise. I would strongly advise against avoiding Building Regs, the cost of retrospective works, or even demolition, will be far in excess of saving £500 on fees. The Party Wall agreement mentioned elsewhere is mandatory, not optional, although in it's simplest form, is simply an exchange of letters with a sketch or two.
  15. It has it's own thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?53265-Frog-amp-Frigate-Re-opening#.VNoNnvmsUYc I'm looking forward to it immensely. I once bought Neil Ruddock a pint in there.
  16. I remember in about '85 we had a milk cup replay away to QPR, Simon Stainrod was getting the dogs abuse from Saints fans & someone chucked some fruit at him, he picked it up & threw it back.
  17. They've never taken the lids off my bottles, but cans are a definite no no.
  18. Looking forward to it. Don't just turn up though, the first three nights are ticket only, £10 each & includes your first drink & limited to 100 each night.
  19. Hopefully it'll be like the old days, should be, as the new owner is Derek Gardener.
  20. What annoys me is the ref clearly saw it, as he warned Smalling not to do it again. Surely when he first saw it he should have given a pen.
  21. I'm pleased for the guy. He un-justifiably got a lot of stick, I often had discussions with the bloke who used to sit in front of me, he would criticise Guly as soon as he got on the pitch. He was a versatile player & I think this was why he attracted so much abuse, often being played out of a position. Good luck to him & thanks for the memories.
  22. I sit in the same row as them, and he definitely looked like the cat that got the cream as he whisked her off for a free Bovril.
  23. I assume this is a joke.
  24. Not sure about Brum, but I thinl Old Trafford is in the corner.
  25. A miserable 6 for me, like many others I fell into the Ibrox/Villa trap & messed up the Valley/Selhurst. Kenilworth Rd was easy, it has the club name on a hording.
