  1. Would like to say that the server speed, especially on match days, has drastically improved and would like to thank the mods for the hard work. In comparison, the OS website speed is crap but there we go.
  2. Most annoying thing is that there is nothing to moan about. Saints are top of the league playing the best football I can remember in a very long time, the Manager is great and you can see that he thinks about stuff and makes sensible decision. I go to SMS knowing that I will very likely see a win. Its reasonably settled behind the scenes and the chairman is not Rupert Lowe. Bit dull really. Not like the old days
  3. he's got off the bus
  4. I was watching the game today and I wondered whether the ticket office ask fans to purchase two seats if they are fat. Fortunately this hasn't been a problem to me so far.
  5. Since I'm 15, my Dad still takes me to football yet we seem to sit in the chapel end although I constantly complain there isn't enough singing. Honestly.
  6. The idea is nothing new. Graham Taylor made all the Watford players live in the local area in the eighties. Reducing commuting time makes complete sense, as well as increasing community links. Are any of the current squad making long commutes to get to training?

  8. Is it just me, or is the obsession with the Titanic nauseating. It will be 100 years next year and we will hear no end of it. Everyone seems to forget that 1500+ people died, 550 of which were from Southampton. The impact on the city at the time must have been horrendous.
  9. Chaplow for me. The second he came on the whole team lifted and played much better football.
  10. Was it me or was the competition to see who could score with the big footballs fixed?

    Chaplow

What a sensation when he came on the pitch. Really picked up the game and played generally well. Would be tempted, on away games, to start him instead of Guly although saying that Guly had a good game as well.
  12. Rotating the Dell through 90 degrees was suggested after the war when the site behind the West stand was a bomb site. Once the flats went up it was never going to happen. There were plans to close Milton Road and complete the stand. Council stopped that one. At one time the club owned all the houses behind the East stand - then sold them again. Council put a stop to a top tier on the Archers because of the buses. I think that replacing the West stand was the only serious option if we had stayed at the Dell. None of the above happened, its all history. I happen to like SMS and think that having a site close to the city centre is a good thing.
  13. Some people saying MLT is at fault and shouldn't be claming freebies. Others saying it's cortese's fault and MLT is in the right. But I ask you "does it really matter". The only reason people like us our doing what we do is because we want the best for Southampton. Why should we be divided over such a petty argument like this between a hero and a chairman who has done more successfully than previous chairmen I could think of. It just doesn't make any sense. Why don't MLT and cortese just come to an agreement over it rather than making it messy and pointless. Yes maybe we don't always agree with his method's but there's no doubt it's done a hell of a lot to get us where we are today. Honestly, it's an embarrassment.
  14. Since when has football been the same at top level as on park pitches? I have played in matches with crooked goalposts, no nets, inept referees, no proper linesmen, bumpy pitches. The goalposts at SMS are straight and the pitch flat and carpetlike. The game is not the same at top and bottom. Agree with goal line technology as so whether the ball has crossed the line. Top matches dont have many goals and it is too important to get wrong. Would hate to see video refs as in Rugby as it would slow the game down.
  15. Your thoughts?
  16. Spoke to a Celtic supporting work colleague today. Apparently he came to them highly recommended for 1&1/2 million. He got injured early on and completely lost confidence. They were happy to let him go. Another club could turn it round - or maybe not. Worth a try on a short term loan, but not a guaranteed partner for Fonte.
  17. Deppo: official comedian
  18. I like your muscles. Quite nice.
  19. My dad insisted we parked in Ocean Village but I protested that it couldn't be that bad. Luckily I gave in in the end.
  20. He's quite small isn't he
  21. Well if Chaplow hadn't been sent off last game he would have definately been sent off tomorrow
  22. But I thought Millwall was a peaceful team. Why do we need to increase the police prescence. It just seems pointless to me.
  23. Look at their forum briefly they do still have a real hatred for us. I'm still struggling to find out why. Any thoughts?
  24. When has being a saints supporter ever been this easy? It's worrying.
  25. Its in the third post
