Is it a 22-pass one-touch goal, a scorcher from the half-way line or a brilliant bit of acrobatics? Or something else?

Normally I park somewhere in Bitterne. Only a 20 min walk and you get out of Southampton quickly.

Saints 1 Arsenal 1 - Post Match Reactions & MotM
kwsaint replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
I thought everyone played well. Even de ridder. My only concern is the lack of substitutes but I'm sure that will be rectified. -
we would stand a pretty good chance of staying up. It's 1.2 points a game to get 40 points which is about 7 draws and a win twice. Think that's kinda doable.

Draw probably a fair result. We could easily have been 2 or 3 down inside the first 20 mins. Much better second half taking the game to Fulham, and had the better of the play and the chances. One of those days when through balls just did not quite reach the target, but then got the penalty. Nearly won and lost it at the end with Ramirez's shots that Schwarzer seemed to take over the line and the Fulham header at the end. Good day out. Fulham fans are unbelievably quiet

I hope you noticed the sarcasm in the post...

I felt completely embarrassed and couldn't watch any of the game because these clowns infront of me were wearing santa costumes. I actually complained to the club and said they should ban anyway in fancy dress as it degrades the club and affects the player mentality. I blame them soley for the loss today and feel they should be ashamed of themselves.

All wrong today. Tactics, performance and personel. Why did we start with Mayuka up front and RL in the hole. And why was De Ridder brought on first? And Sunderland were no better. Two poor sides today. Missed Lallana, but should have stuck to the normal formation and just replaced Lallana.

According to TFL web-site there will be a Sunday service on both tube and buses

Who or what has been significant in our turnaround?
kwsaint replied to up and away's topic in The Saints
Changing the system in the summer. Going from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1/4-3-3. It took a while for the system to settle down and sort the defence out, but we are getting there. Listening to the commentary on the Reading-Arsenal game yesterday. Reading still play 4-4-2 and are getting outplayed in the middle of the park - plus their players aren't as good. NA made the right call. -
Franny Benali scored his only goal

Watching AFC Wimbledon on TV the weekend before last showed what could be done with a supporter-owned club properly organised. Pompey are not as big a club as they like to think, but they are a bigger club than Wimbledon, but they seem to be clutching to the hope of something coming out of PST taking over the wreckage of the club. They should have started again a couple of years ago, clean slate, and done it properly. Which is what they will end up having to do next season anyway. However, they will need to reform PST as it will otherwise be a complete car crash and this thread will run for another 1500 pages.

Just got tickets for me and my nipper. Haven't been to an away game this year either.

I, personally, would hate to become a referee but want to know the opinion of people who do referee games. I mean, what is it that appeals you to be them. The amount of abuse they get wouldn't be socially acceptable if they were in the street.
-
Thanks for that. Oddly, when I first started watching Saints in the early 70s I used to stand at the front of the East Stand, at the Milton end. So stood in Dockers corner without knowing. Cheers.

Bit of a random question, but I read it in one of the Saints books recently. Why was the area under the scoreboard at the Dell called Docker's corner?
-
Found it quite funny when a group starting chanting saints chants and got booed from the bournemouth supporters who was it?

Out of interest, what did your A level and GCSE results look like? I'm thinking of applying myself and just wondered what I should aim for (obviously the best).

For a first time in a while, the squad is starting to look like a premier league squad with a starting 11 beginnning to form. Would love a win but would settle for a draw. Norwich are doing well this season although based on today's performance, we'll give them a good game. 3 - 1. COYS!!!!
-
Agreed. Ref had a really poor game in a match that was not difficult to ref.

I like Coventry. Never really upset anyone and have some awful owners. Want them to do well this year
