I remember coming away from the Barnsley game last year being really excited about him. Put in a great shift that day and then his injury put all that on hold. I know that was a different level of football but I still believe that he'd add something to the team if he was given a chance. I guess the competition's just a bit too strong for him to get that chance, though.

His mistake against Swansea aside, Gazza has looked pretty solid for us but I'm sure he wasn't signed to become our regular first choice. I say give Boruc a chance to get some match form and fitness and he'll be our strongest keeper with Gazza ready to grow as a player and become our #1 in the years to come.

I know he's old (though not "past it" as some have suggested) and I know we are already overrun with attackers but the very idea of Del Piero, who I have loved watching as I've grown up, playing in a Saints shirt simply sends shivers down my spine. I doubt it will happen, but I'd personally love it. He'd really be someone for the youngsters to look up to.
