I coach my lads U8s, and you are totally correct, we've had a good chat with the parents before the season about how they ar expected to behave, and yes Ive had to have a quiet word with one or two of them since, but thats been more down to them coaching the kids from the sidelines. Its the dads that ref/line the games so if they get moaned at too much they won't do it again so theyve been really good on that front. I just feel the FA is taking almost the easy way out by targetting the kids rather than taking the bull by the horns and stamping it out of the top level.

Whilst I agree, until they do something about the professional game, trying to sort out grassroots is like shuffling deckchairs on the titanic. You can pump as much respect campaign as the kids will take, but all the time they watch their heroes doing it on tv they will copy. IMO the FA should take a leaf out of rugbys book, and do it swiftly and without remorse. No player except the captain talks to the ref (friendly chatting excepted obviously). Any player who does is immediatley sin-binned for 5 mins, with no maximum amount of players in the bin at any given time. Can you imagine Fergies face as his team are taken apart at old trafford by a far inferior side, while 7 of his players have to sit and watch. Arguing would stop overnight.

He probably thinks exactly the same as we do, that most refs are a bunch of cheating ******s that favour the bigger teams, but he can't say as much

You werent in that minibus that got chased down the main road by a group of scallies after the game were you? We were stood in the queue for the free bus when all these little gob****es started running after this bus giving it the large one, until the traffic stopped, at which point they all stopped and started jumping up and down on the spot not really knowing what to do, then one of their mates shouted something and they all ran off down a side street.
