Again I disagree. In a team that places such importance on possession its vital that the keeper can play it out to a team mate under pressure.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. That is all about shot stopping. No one is argueing he isn't a decent stopper, I agree he is one of, if not the best for reaction saves. Goalkeeping isn't just about that though, if there was a table for ridiculous cock ups he would be pretty near the top of that no doubt. What about a kicking table? Probably near the bottom.

Of course they do, hazard of the job, but top keepers also stop stuff like Boruc didn't yesterday and against Sunderland. And Ive yet to see one try to turn a striker three times. And most of them can kick a ball and keep it on the pitch at least somewhere near a team mate. Like I said, I don't think Boruc is a bad keeper, and he's the best we have at the moment, but he isn't good enough if we seriously want to move 'to the next level', whatever that is. If the owners are happy being a midtable club, then he's adequate. If not, we need better.

Jesus, some of you need to take the blinkers off. The ball comes across his six yard box low enougn thst Crouch has to bend double to reach it, and he still beats him. You can argue all you want about poor markinh and I would agree with you, but the fact is as the forum experts alway s tell us anything at a good height in or around the six yard box is the keepers. If it had been Kelvin Davis this place would be in meltdwn calling for him to be publicly hung drawn and quartered!

I still have the same opinion of him that I had when he arrived. He isn't good enough if were serious about moving up the league. Yes he pulls off some good saves, but so does every other keeper in the league. Another howler today has cost us two points. Too late to do anything now but if we want to carck on we need a top quality keeper in the summer, Begovic would do nicely.

Good luck to the lad, in the right team he will do a decent job. Not the most technically gifted player we've ever had but a model pro, good team man and a good lad off the pitch. The one thing I will remember him for was just that. At the promotion party when we got back to the prem a mate of mine who is wheelchair bound was struggling to get served at the bar. Foxy noticed, and went straight up and bought him a case of beer so he didn't need to move again. No big deal to someone on his wages, he probably earnt that twenty quid in less than a minute, but I thought it was a great gesture.
