  1. Cruel Phil, but funny nonetheless...
  2. Really? Because saying ******** to good business workes out so well for us in the past, didn't it?
  3. As sad as it is to see him go (if its true) I don't see how anyone could stop or begrudge him this move. Lets look at the facts. He is a striker the wrong side of 30 and probably has one decent season left in him, he is one of the highest earners at the club, at his age one knock could finish him, we paid £1m for him in league 1, we are going to more than double our money on him, add in to that the extra income his goals have brought and its been a bloody good bit of business all round. If we re-invest the money in one or two younger strikers then there will be no complaints from me, and a big thank you and good luck Sir Rickie Lambert!
  4. Horrible situation mate, hope it works out for you. Would the club not give you at least a partial refund if renewed but then found out you were being laid off?
  5. So we can believe some no mark fan from 400 odd miles away who knows nothing about Saints apart from what he's read in the press or on a message board, or we can take what our chairman says: 'No timeframe has been disclosed on naming a new manager, but the Saints Chairman stressed that there’s no shortage of interested parties who are determined to build on the club’s current impressive standing as he also refuted talk of scaling back ambition, and reiterated the target of European football at St Mary’s.' Obviously everyone has the right to believe what they want, but I will be reserving judgement before I turn into a hysterical bedwetter. I think the board couldn't hang onto Poch whatever they offered, and quite rightly weren't going to be held to ransom.
  6. I think we won't have a manager per se. I reckon the sacking of Dodd and Williams was to make way for an inclusive type coaching set up, with a DoF type figure, Les Reed most probably, overseeing the whole thing. Bloody hope I'm wrong.
  7. I heard he could launch a half time tea cup or two when he needed to.
  8. I would happily take him back, and I think a lot of the playing staff would too.
  9. IF he goes, and I won't believe it until its officially announced, I won't blame him or hate him for it. He came here from Spain with no affinity for the club and clearly thinks Spurs is a bigger club with better prospects for his career advancement. I guess his eyes are on a job somewhere like Real or Barca eventually, or the Argie national team. There is very little loyalty in the game these days, and management is such a cut and thrust job that I don't think anyopne can blame a manager for taking what he sees is a step forward. That said I think he is wrong, I think if he stays Saints will finish above Spurs next season, and like I said while I won't turn on him personally for his decision I hope he fails miserably and is out on his ear by the end of the season.
  10. Has anyone had theirs yet?
  11. I tried to grab a book earlier but the mrs gave me a withering 'put it back' kind of stare. I will have to smuggle one later on when I 'pop out for some milk, dear'. I am 39.
  12. Bless, maybe they were going to see a show together?
  13. SO one mans conspiracy theory affadavit over several hundred eye witness accounts. Ok then. And despite what he says it would be very easy to teach someone to use the autopilot controls enough to get the plane to the building given the complexity of flight sim software available.
  14. I have to say, even as a glass half full type of person, whilst at first I was quite happy about him I am starting to have my doubts. Happy to be proved wrong, but I wonder if we wouldn't have been better off with a proper 'football person' at the top. That said he is only the chairman, the club is run by a board and that board does include people with football experience, so who knows.
  15. Make sense, that way he only has to buy one fish and a jug of water. Cheap night out...
  16. Or maybe he was going to pay Boruc a visit...
  17. Mont Ventoux. Probably best not to try it on a bike though...
  18. The velodrome is a great laugh. Don't know if you've ridden a track bike before but they are fixed wheel and brakeless. I did the taster years ago, its quite gentle. They start you off going round the bottom then gradually higher and higher as your confidence builds. Its surprising how slow you can actually go and still stick to the wall, just don't look left! The real challenge is trying to keep it low when you are giving it some, trying to stick on the pursuiters line you really need to commit to the corner otherwise you end up just flying up the banking and losing a load of momentum. Good luck and enjoy it!
  19. Its on the OS now, although the link appears to be broken. Also confirms Guly is gone.
  20. Adam Blackmore denying at all on twitter. Apparently thats not what he said...
  21. So a few thousand less shirt sales versus billions of tv viewers the world over seeing their brand on the front of the shirt. Yep, that just might work!
  22. The poor bloke modelling the away kit has been in the sun far too long, someone should call Health and Safety
  23. I am very plaesed that we won't have a termplate kit that looks exactly the same as every other Adidas wearing team.
  24. I obviously meant £30m as an absolute minimum. But that there is 3 good players worth of money. We have Clyne who can happily cover lb, and Chambers we all know is quite ready to be a first team regular. We also have Targett waiting in the wings (no pun intended). Thats a lot of money for one player we can cover fairly easily, and if what I heard last night is true, we may be looking for more than one goalkeeper this summer.
