Happy Birthday Ron. Unfortunatly im too young to have seen you play, but thank heavens for 'you tube' Have a great day and remember you are part of the Saints family, young and old!
-
Im also with you on this one and agree completly. Some on here may like to remember though that without a belief in God our wonderful football club would not exist!

Maybe its as simple as using this time to let a lot of staff go on holidays etc before the start of the new campaign leaving just a skeleton staff behind. Would make business sense to encourage leave during quiet times. Then have all hands on deck to get things under way after a few weeks break. After all, most of the players plan their holidays for the end of season break.

Yes! Just thought id get that in before you close the thread.

Donation made. Great that the club are backing it too. -
Is it only me that still has that little niggle of fear in the back of my mind still despite the fact we have done it. Hence why i want a convincing win. I suppose until i see that P beside us on the league table i wont be satisfied. Its just that in all the years im conditioned into seeing saints do bad. You never thought you could lose with 17 minutes to go 3 - 0 up! (sorry to bring that up) Thats what makes this new era so good. What with the JPT win last year and now promotion i just cant get used to it. Its just so good to be a winner for once after years as a loser. Long may it continue as it feels so bloody good!!!

What result do you want on Saturday. With all due respect to Walsall i want a truly great victory to really get the party going. I know we all want a win, but i want a proper goal fest. Would really put the icing on the cake to finish in excess of 90 points and only a couple behind the league winners. Would be nice if results go the right way and Walsall avoid relegation too. The whole stadium would be rocking at full time!

Obviously 'Minsk' is also another Saints fan in Belarus. There must be a few there now!

The club have shown groups of the kids around before and its good publicity for them. Its ideal to give away old shirts etc to them too. Believe me when i say that these kids really see coming to a match as something special. One lad i got on really well with and even paid to bring him back a few times absolutly loved it. He was running round collecting autographs and getting photos taken like it was Christmas and Birthday rolled into one! It means a hell of a lot that there are now supporters and a little bit of Southampton in Belarus. It has given these kids experiences that some of ours take for granted.
-
Have done this myself about 5 times. I even went out to Belarus a few years ago to see the kids and it was very humbling and a real eye opener. Most amazing thing i have ever done and the difference you can make to these kids is incredable. We know have 4 good saints fans growing up in Belarus after them attending games. We even hung around before the games and met the players and i must admit they were all superb towards the boys and truly made their days. they felt like they were meeting true superstars. Really recomend that people support you in this cause.

Checking your code from a coke bottle online was something separate to this. Think you had to text in, and it was then drawn out the hat on tv. I only remember as my small claim to fame was finishing third in the table of people entering their codes online for Saints raising something like £125 for the transfer kitty in addition to the £250,000 top prize. Mind you that means that i probably raised the money to sign Pulis!

Took i think 12 kilos of it it to scrap dealer 2 weeks ago and got £57 but it dowes have to be clean bright copper, not old pipe etc. If its wire and its still in the plastic insulation you get a lot less. Think i got about £12 for around 11 kilos of that. I hadnt been bothered to strip it all out, although at the prtice differnece its definatly worth doing. Dont be tempted to burn it off though as this as far as i know is illegal and would reduce its price anyway.

Please send Big Ron all our best wishes too and Happy New Year. Would love to one day see him at St Marys, can only imagine the reception he would get. Great to keep hearing his messages and news on here.

Anyone else notice the brief mention of a few injuries pre season?

Depends where it was. Alot of places oop north could be dramatically improved by a good earthquake!

Nasty little animals. I agree that no list of pros would ever make me keep one.

I used to suffer quite bad with it for a few years. Was even put on tablets to help me, which worked. I also went to speak to some people about it. Basically the long and short of it is that we all do it, just to differing degrees. Some of us it takes over our lives. I had really trouble with washing my hands and germs etc. Im much better now and have learned to live with it. Its just one of those things though that if you do them, just remember it dosent make you a nutter or unusual. As this thread proves we all do them to differing degress. Its no worse than i suppose players rituals before a game its the same sort of thing. Mind you cant believe ive just tried to put a sensible answer on here.

Made blackberry brandy last year too. Made the same as the sloe gin but obviously use brandy and blackberries. Always use demarra sugar too, just seems to taste better.
-
Quite true, its the same as football clubs. Its like saying saints are a family club, less violent, better behaved etc but we still have our fair share of idiots who get in trouble just in the name of football. We may have less than many other clubs but we still have them. As for religion ill stick with Christianity, C of E, it may have its faults too, but without would our club exist?

I always go at work during work time. If you take your time and spend at least 9/10 mins about the whole process every day, over the course of the year that works as an extra weeks leave! Admittedly it has been sat on the loo, but at least you got paid for it. Which makes it at the special rate of time and a turd!

RIP Markus. The impact that you had upon my life by saving my club, you could never know. You always will be a True Saint. Thankyou. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
