We looked the better team in the first. Chambers and Shaw were v.good and Lovren and Hooiveld were in control at the back. We made a lot of changes in the second half and it showed. We keep working and get a couple of good signings in (Striker and Defender) then we will be OK..

Agree.. Sunderland had to win to be safe and with Paulo di Canio winding this game up to be his Champions League game Saints were under a lot of pressure. They dominated, went one down, didn't panic and got what they deserved. This was a gutsy performance by Saints in my view.

People are supposing that Wigan will repeat their annual surge. The teams they play will be fully aware of that and not be as complacent as past seasons. And they play Villa on the last day.

Did the BBC Predictor yet again and still had us to lose the last 3 games and we still stay up. There are a lot of teams playing each other at the bottom so the results would really have to go against us.

If you look the remaining fixtures then Villa look to have a tough run in because they play teams who are still battling at either end of the table. I would say that if they lose to Sunderland tomorrow our odds improve dramatically as they play Wigan on the final day. Even if we lose our last 3 games our chances are still good.
