Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m
monosaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Says something about his maturity that the only way he could handle it was by going on strike. I have not felt so bitter and angry about a player leaving since Kenwyn Jones. All this about loyalty through the difficult years means nothing. His ego has taken over. If you hear some of the new Coaching Team talking there is still a strong culture of success at SFC and I am now beginning to get excited about the new season. Time to draw a blue line me thinks. -
I heard from someone who knows his wife, some time ago, that he was going. The quote was "Money Talks". Where's the loyalty in that. However, we should remember that he stuck with us through the low points and could have easily gone sooner. Let's thank him for his great service and wish him luck in his new career.

If it's 34Million then a no brainer. RK can buy 3 top quality players for that. I think Saints have struck an amazing deal.

Yes.. When you are representing England at the World Cup. And no I am not 65..
-
Absolute idiot. I thought the Academy tried to instil good values as well as footballing skills in to their development. Not worked here obviously.

All these supposed want away Saints youngsters. They should take a look at Wilfred Zaha. Goes off to United and at that point on the verge of the England squad. Doesn't get a game and now it looks like Palace are set to try and get him back. Now there's a good reference. I am sure there are many other examples of players going the same way.

May be this is what Dejan should do. Take a look and see. Love it.. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/09/11/eurosport_com_scores_headline_profanity/

It's probably only due to the fact that Mancini has left Galatasary and is a free agent. Nothing more in it would be my guess.

I am not sure that AL is being deliberately silly but just showing a degree of immaturity in my view. SRL has had some very tough times and worked hard to get what he deserves and consequently shows much more respect to Saints because he knows that this would not have happened to him had it not been for Saints. Full credit to Pardew for taking the risk. We all doubted it when he came to us from Bristol Rovers didn't we.
-
Not many are surprised that AL should want to enhance his career but as Club Captain and a so called loyal player he is showing a distinct lack of respect for Saints fans with his comments and behaviour. The more I see, the more I will be happy when he's gone. It is unsettling everyone and he should know that.

Maybe all the business relating to Mark Clattenburg's comments regarding Lallana getting cocky ever since being selected to play for England makes more sense now.
-
No point in waiting for the new manager on this one. He would not want players sticking around who are clearly unhappy.
-
I was tempted not to renew but reminded myself of the almost 60 years of supporting the saints. Have been here many times and still have red and white blood cells. Bit aneamic at the moment but what I need is a few Saints Iron tablets and I'll be OK again.

If Lambert goes and Lallana stays that would be a result for us. Nobody begrudges RL a final bumper payday with his home town club. I think that Liverpool are trying to unsettle us while we have no manager in place. If Les Reed allows this to happen without the approval of anyone else then he needs shooting.

They haven't even compiled a shortlist yet and everyone seems to have already decided who it's going to be. If RK is to be believed they will go through a rigorous process to identify the right candidate. I can only see that as a positive.

Would Benitez fit the model that Saints are clearly looking for.. Not sure really. Never seen him actively promoting youngsters through in to the first team. It's a no from me.

Mancini seen in a Southampton restaurant. Got this from 2 sources and reading the attached extract from the Daily Mail in March makes sense.. Mancini's advisors are already planning for life away from Istanbul, should the manager leave this summer. It is understood the former Sampdoria and Lazio forward is willing to return to the Barclays Premier League this summer, should the right opportunity arise. Mancini's proven track record in England's top flight means he is likely to be among the contenders for any top-flight jobs that become available this summer. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2591693/Roberto-Mancini-eyeing-Premier-League-escape-route-pressure-grows-Galatasaray-boss.html#ixzz32vrkToQg

The Forum is going in to meltdown over this so I decided to eMail the club. Not sure I will get a response but it made me feel better.

If MP goes, what we need is a manager who is on his way up like MP not one that is on his way down like say Mark Hughes. It's going to be a rough ride and haven't renewed my ST yet. I guess I will as always but sometimes you just feel like throwing the towel in.

Allowing players to talk to other clubs is one thing but I am not sure that Agents are under the same restrictions.
-
Good defensive display. First full game back for Wanyama. That's why.. Now all we need is a 20 goal a season striker and we can push up the league.
-
It has been inbred in to our players now that whatever the score we continue to play it out from the back to the midfield. It then becomes about the quality of our players to execute the strategy and at the moment we are lacking in one or two key areas. Still need another quick striker and wide player. Let's hope that gets sorted in the summer.
-
Recorded the BT Sport Game and what hacks me off is the way the likes of McManaman unsettles our players by quoting that pretty well all of our stars will leave in the summer. Wish he'd keep his mouth shut. We were in control of the game until that stupid error by the Assistant. If I were a Liverpool fan I'd be thinking it's a conspiracy. Next season, in order to get to the next level we do need to have a better cutting edge when in control of games. If we can bring in just a couple of high quality signings I think we can start thinking about the top 6.

Watched the game on streaming and for me it was about WHU wanting it more. I really hate losing to them or is it just BSA.. Actually we played OK just one or two of our key players off their game i.e. RL and JRod. Nothing went our way today. One offside, an unfortunate rebound back off the post and a big lob in to the box looking for the knockdown. On another day we could have won 1-0.. That's football.. At this time of the season it will be about other teams we play wanting it more because of their position, top or bottom. We have to deal with that. I really find the negativity from some totally lacking any analysis. It adds no value. OK, I'm really fed up but looking for positives of which there were several.
