  1. Tried the Premier League Table Calculator and have us staying up on 37 pts. (13th) with WBA, Brighton and Swansea getting relegated and that was with us drawing tomorrow. A bit of fun. Try it..
  2. Don't be a pratt. Of course I wanted us to win but understand the dynamics of football. I've supported Saints for over 60 years and have seen the highs and lows over that time, What I have learned is that the Fans' confidence is as much a part of the challenge as the Manager and Players.
  3. Let's take the positives. We could have capitulated very easily in the 2nd half but managed to weather the storm and it looks like we were robbed by a handball. We have moved up one place and are not in the bottom 3. Let's not forget we are very low on confidence and this would have been a result we'd have taken before the game. We move on. Negativity from us doesn't help.
  4. You think then that Les and Co are just sitting around doing nothing? I really cannot believe how naive some people are about these things. Given the market and how agents manipulate it I can imagine it must be highly complex to push any deal through.
  5. I don't suppose you understand the complexities of pushing transfer deals through in the current environment.
  6. Absolutely agree.
  7. I have had time since Tuesday to reflect. I was as gutted, angry and worried as any Saints fan but let's not forget that we the fans are just as much part of the club as anyone and some of the comments and booings I heard at the end suggested to me that the fans have lost it as well as the players. After the equaliser we expected a reaction from the players. The fans didn't react either so we are as much to blame as the players. If we don't add any value to the team then why are we there. We look at other clubs including Palace where the fans just don't stop chanting/singing and that's why they have started to pull out of trouble. We are all to blame for this and changing the manager may be very dangerous considering the usual suspects are all taken.
  8. How dare you criticise a committed Saints player for saying that. A very unintelligent response in my view. It's that attitude that will get us out of this.
  9. Only players to come out with any credit were Hojberg and Targett. Hojberg should play every game.. If we sack MP then who do we bring in. Please, not Tony Pulis. Cannot think who would be a good replacement.
  10. It's because people often ignore this that we have the sh--ty world we live in. AND if I were welsh I would be offended by those comments.

    Lemina!

Much better than Wanyama in my view. He was awesome.
  12. I think it's already been said. The club did not incur the debt but the major Chinese shareholder did.
  13. Showed guts to take the 5th penalty.
  14. It's a shame that Jose left under those circumstances and I guess we may never know who really facilitated the move. He did say that when returning from the Euros he had offers and the club may have felt he already had one foot out of the door. The economics may have been right for both sides. £8 Million for a 33 year old is good money for someone past his best. Against Bournemouth yesterday he showed his vulnerabilities. Gave away a penalty and was easily beaten for the first goal. We move on.
  15. Not true. The two games in hand are both Home against Arsenal and Man U. We have 8 Home Games and 4 away so let's hope we have a storming finish.
  16. Hi Justin. Am a season ticket holders so have my ticket. My son is a mad Saints fan but studying in St Andrews so does not qualify for tickets. He and his wife are looking for tickets. Would be most grateful if you could help find 2 tickets. My email is mike_onoufriou@btinternet.com. Many thanks.
  17. We need to learn how to move the ball forward much quicker. In the first 20 minutes we had lots of possession but did not penetrate at all. I think the problem is that we are not willing to take the risk with a killer ball. I thought we were the better side in the second half and Boufal made us more threatening. Swansea are clearly getting a lift from the new manager and their Liverpool win and I always felt that this would be tough despite some people's view that we should have cruised through this one.
  18. I was not surprised with the team selection given the efforts we must have put in on Wednesday night. However I did spend good money to go and watch what was a Men vs Boys display. There is no way you can expect a team with 10 changes on starting line up to perform. It's unfair to judge any individual player on the basis of that result.
  19. I hear he went to WHU to win trophies.
  20. What stretcher. He walked off unassisted from where I was standing.
  21. What would really irritate me is that if it is WHU in his press conference he makes some mindless comment about going to a bigger club. We thought big 4 was his destination. Big payday. Not sure at WHU.
  22. Sorry but that's offensive and childish.
  23. Having watched it on Streaming I felt it was an even game until the 75th minute. We had good chances to score. We just lost our composure in the last 10 minutes. We need a break to be honest. Having lost Soares we were then down to 3 second choice back 4 and one was out of position. I am not in meltdown but feel we were one team that just suffered from the fixture congestion more than most.
  24. I think you do WBA and Pulis a disservice. Show some respect for others.
  25. Just 3 games ago we outplayed Bournemouth due to our rotation by all accounts. Amazing how short the highs can be and how we turn very quickly. Against Everton we will have Fonte back and our first choice fullbacks. Martina has always been a weakness and maybe we need to bring in cover for Soares. We draw a blue line underek.r.james@btconnect.com this and move on.
