  1. You could argue that he's already delivered! C'mon. Give us a break!!
  2. All this crap about changing tactics is not what we need. In games where we have not won it's because the players did not show the quality needed to support the tactics. Some have been below par recently e.g Lallana.. Will Arsenal ever change their style. NO I say.. They have quality players that support it. We have occasional quality players.
  3. What a load of tosh from someone who has supported saints for a lot longer than you I bet. 2 Points a game so far this season in a league that is probably the toughest to get out of speaks volumes. The fact that Pompey played like the away side respresents how we are respected and feared in this league. We have had a bad run but are still top. Get real guys!!!
  4. FFS guys if Football were predictable it would be boring. That's why we glue ourselves to TV or PC every Saturday to watch the events unravel. Let's face it if WHU cannot beat Burnley at home then I guess they are now all of a sudden ****e!!
  5. We definitely miss Chaplow's unique style. Hammond, Cork and Schneiderlin do not ghost in to the box like RC.. He comes in late and noone picks him up because of that..
  6. A bad day at the office. Sounds like everyone off their game today..
  7. With Jack Cork at the centre of the back 4 with an in-experienced Aaron Martin worried me.
  8. I would take that back if I were you.. You are now generalising and making prejudiced remarks. No place on this forum for comments like that. Given that you used to go what does that make you?
  9. If Celtic paid 2 million for him he must have impressed them. Clearly, things don';t alway work out. Look at Joe Cole who never really made it at Liverpool. Does that make him a bad player? I also think that NA and NC were fed up with Championship Clubs inflating their prices for strikers to a level that was getting ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a good loanee striker. Let's wait and see.
  10. SKY just showed Puncheon legging it in to QPR's reception to close the deal..
  11. The players we have already bought in are of top quality and came because of the vision of the Club and its Chariman so worrying about Mr Warnock, who, as most will say, is of the old school is not worth the effort. Move on I say. Let's not go forking out silly money for overrated players.
  12. Millwall clearly came with a game plan to stop us playing and then trying to catch us on the break. I would not have begrudged them a draw as they worked hard and I think shaded the second half. Having said that I think our full-backs played well and I would give Richardson my MOM. He had to work hard against a speedy winger and handled him pretty well. Not all teams are like Millwall som let's not assume that all teams will adopt that tactic at St. Marys. Some will believe that they can outplay us and that willo help us I think..
  13. Absolutely right that the club show some teeth here. There is no doubt that agents. parents etc. deliberately undermine the situation by talking to the press and media. His father has been quoted several times and I think that is equally un-professional. Going to Arsenal will not necessarily lead to instant fame. He'll probably end up like Walcott, hovering around the reserves and on the bench for at least 2 years.
  14. People are talking about strengthening the squad and I am absolutley with them. BUT.. I also think that most of us were expecting AOC to depart which he may now not do. With that I believe that our squad is now probably only one player short. Good Centre Back. That's all we need. Let's also not forget that a fit Lee Holmes would be a welcome addition to any Championship squad..
  15. The fact that AOC, Lallana and Fonte are all still with us reflectes as much on our ambition as buying players at over-inflated prices. CMS may have been good on League 1 but is still a risk at 3 million. 2 additions is all we need.
  16. Exactly!
  17. If you take the catchment area which includes the likes of Eastleigh, Winchester and other such connurbations then I wouldn't be surprised to find they are not too dissimilar. Again, assume you take Everton and Tranmere in to the equation then you are not far off..
  18. I can't believe that people are not allowed to have a vision for the club and that should include Champions League. That's what drives the Charman, Manager, Players and many supporters. I can remember going to the dell in 1962 (or there abouts) to watch Saints play the mighty Liverpool in the old Second Division (yes, Liverpool were in the lower league). We beat them 2-0 and I remember Yates and St. John were playing for them and a certain Bill Shankly was their manager. A quote from WIKEPEDIA "Shankly took charge of Liverpool when they were bottom of the Second Division but soon established them as one of the major forces in the English game." Southampton and Liverpool are probably pretty similar in size and catchment, not forgetting you have Everton as well, so let's not dampen the enthusiasm and keep dreaming. Maybe it will become a reality..
  19. How about signing Lallana on a 4 year contract and also extending Connolly on a 1 year Contract. To me those are good signings for the Championship. I think he has done well so far.
  20. He may like the Architecture of Rome cause he can "enter the buildings". It's as SAT (Simple as That)...
  21. I was thinking just that. He could have easily applied for the Saints job in the last couple of years and we turned him down.. Wouldn't surprise me.
  22. I have always been impressed with Lee Clark's professionalism. Hope the Terriers can maintain their momentum in to the playoffs and join us next season. Good luck to Huddersfield.
  23. Pompey next season and it's payback time. Can't wait. Just watching Pompey vs. Norwich and Surman getting some Scummer abuse from the fans when taking corners. Brainless idiots.. Hope Surman scores!!!
  24. I am hoping that NA has got them thinking that they have nothing to lose today and go all out for the win. I am sure he will instill that mental state in to the players so they can play with some freedom and win it comfortably. A draw would be useless in my opinion. We will still have to beat Walsall.
  25. I ran quickly through the BBC predictor and came out with 19 Points as being enough. I assumed we will be beaten by Brighton and draw a few away games and even draw at home to MKD so have not been generous. The league is tight so I would guess there will be some surprises along the way. If we go on yet another 4 game winning run then we will put ourselves in pole position. Eminently doable, but this is Saints so, let's enjoy the ride..
