I would agree that this one was pretty much a let down but I remember the one in 1999 being pretty cool, was watching it outside the (what are now) Animal offices in Poole and it went very dark and cold and quiet for a couple of minutes. Today was "meh, did anything happen..."

TBH, these days with all the rules and legal stuff around common law marriages et al, not an awful lot. However there is something nice in committing your future to someone and demonstrating to the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with that commitment. What happens further down the line when/if you want out is another matter. Plus you've got the wedding reception which, in my experience, was bloody fun.

Those requirements are almost like marriage, apart from the football and sex parts.....
