I love bransgrove, but there is one major difference between Football & Cricket. I remember in about 2000 when we had Warne we got relegated (We had a **** team) Now as we know in football terms that often means oblivion & chaos. In cricket it doesn't mean alot. You don't lose alot of revenue & to be honest no one really cares much. Therefore I think in certain terms the comparison is slightly unfair. It cannot be denied though that Bransgrove is a massive cricket & Hampshire fan, his current recommendations on how the game should move forward are spot-on in my opinion.

I read something in the paper yesterday that I agree with, it was in reference to the Arsenal fans booing their own player. They said the trouble is the clubs no longer treat us as SUPPORTERS but CONSUMERS, and the trouble with Consumers is if they are expected to pay £25.00 & don't like the product they will complain or find something else to do. I think that this is a pretty good explanation as to our current malaise. The clubs took our support for granted during the good times & are now paying for it. The fact Arsenal fans have a succesful team & are whinging more than us kind of backs this theory up in my view.

They should stick a poster up a Bob Marley smoking a bifta....or that tennis girl scratching her arse.

Yes I hate Lowe & Wilde...Yes it means I attend less games than I used to BUT why should stay away fans have to support another club? They are fans of Southampotn football Club not Lowe & Wilde. We didn't ask Lowe & Wilde to take over our club. Southampton FC was around a long time before those two flumps & will be around a lot longer after they are gone.

Yeah how selfish of me..I can actually buy my daughter all the things she wants this christamas with the money i've saved not going to watch Saints this season. I should be ashamed.

Legally I don't think we could..illegaly I beleive it can be done. It would probably come with a ten year jail term...and i've heard the soap in prison showers can get very slippery

My father was left with 70% burns because he stayed in Southampton. To compare something as trivial as football, to something that has had such a profound effect on my life...i'll be honest I found it deeply offensive. I've lurked on this board (and it's previous version)but rarely posted for about 5 years and although a lot of rubbish gets posted this has really upset me. Don't get me wrong I beleive if free speech, I'm glad it's been posted....but I just want the guy who posted it to recognise this is a pretty sensitive area for some of us.

Billy Davies is an absolute Munchkin! I'd rather see Branfoot back rather than that streak of ****. If he comes back I gurantee I will be ripping up my mates season ticket!!!!!

I kinda feel the same mate. I stopped going last year for the first time in 16 years...and found that I didnt miss it. I can still listen to it on the radio, whilst spending time with my little girl, or doing something else. The biggest problem saints would have with me is that even if we started winning & Lowe f*cked off I still wouldn't go back, i've just seem to have got bored of it. I still love supporting the team,but I can't be arsed to go anymore. I even find myself doing my pre-match pub ritual with my mates sometimes...but then leaving them& going home at three o'oclock.
