Yeah, I agree. Also worry about the county game. If we become this uber powerful 'mega club' along with a handful of others, what happens to Derbyshire, Northants, etc. They struggle enough now. I can't help feeling that this is the beginning of the end for the 18 club championship, although to be honest this is probably the desire of alot of club chairman. I think Rob Bransgrove has done an incredible job at Hants, we were on our arse in 1999, but as someone who loves county cricket I find this development a bit concerning. Another Marshall story. I was collecting a winning scratch card on the boundary of the county ground years ago, Marshall saw me looking over at him, smiled & asked me if Iwanted him to sign it..I panicked & said no! (i was only 10 & he was my hero) What a legend he was. What a plank I was!

Great , we're 'Franchise C.C' . I dunno about this one. I'm a bit of a traditionalist. I grew up watching Malcolm Marshall scaring the **** out of tail-enders in front of 6 men and a dog at the county ground. Twenty five years later and we are the leading county superpower. I'm sure it could be amazing..but I can't help feeling something about the club I grew up loving has been lost forever...sniff.

Sorry mate I may have been a bit harsh, it all just seems a bit desperate though. We're playing crap so we just cling on to some stats that show we would be the sixth worst supported team in the premiership or something. Mate, I think they are way worse than those who run football. Here's an example. We decide to drop the friends Provident trophy..but keep the Sunday 40 over league??? In football terms that's the same as dumping the FA cup but keeping the Coca Cola Cup...freaking mental. The Bonus points system is a freakin joke. We get one of the strongest batting line-ups in the game to follow-on and the final tally is Hants 11 Somerset 10. What a load a cack. A team who have won just 1 game all season lie 5th in the division just 9 points behind a team who have won 3 games!! I'm sorry but this is a load of old ********!! Yeah definately, the feeling I get is that most Hampshire fans wouldn't be bothered if he played anyway. I was more interested if people had heard if Prior would be released, as I would expect Sussex to pick him that was the case.

Will the ECB release Prior & KP to play in the final?. I've got a funny feeling they will, as they know that KP would be too injured to be considered for Hants anyway, & I don't think they will mind Prior getting a knock as the next test is 11 days away. Anyone heard anything?

Yeah I would rather see us win the Championship more than anything else, but I just don't think we've got the batting to do it. We're in the top division but none of batsmen are knocking on England's door. I think we need two class batsmen to come through the ranks. The bowlings pretty good though.
