Yeah agree a top 5 player in a division 1 club an average of 36.54 is absolute bare minimum you would expect A hundred every 13 games is frankly below average. Standard county player, occasionly brilliant one day player ( i saw that 100 against Essex, pretty amazing) couple this witj the fact he is constantly injured or playing Ipl and I think he's worth getting off the wage bill, and getting a younger player in.

He's ok..but lets be honest he's done nish in the championship and we've reached two 20/20 final days without him. He seems more interested in picking up a cheque for ipl than play for us (can't blame him) , get him off the wage bill.

Rigjt so let me get this straight we produce a (non damgerous) pitch which produces an excellent game and get fined 8 points. We then produce a pitch where two first divisipn bowling line-ups take 13 wickets in three and a half days and it's a big thumbs up from Tony Pillock... Sorry Piggot (bit of satire from me there) and they wonder why no-one watches championship cricket. Absolute rubbish, and I don't think it's one in the eye for the ECB..they fined us, and now we've produced a bland pitch as required guranteeing our relegation. Hants Championship hopes of survival have just died today.

'War Baby' is an amazing book about the Nigel Benn v Gerald Mclellan fight by Kevin Mitchell. It's touching, sad and horrifying in equal measure. The section about Mcllelan thrashing his 4 x 4 through a park squashing flamingoes and his obsession with dog fighting probably comes under the horrifying section....yet somehow you end up feeling sorry for the guy, especially when confined to a wheelchair his family come round to visit him, only to pinch the gold rings off his fingers! Truly amazing insight into one mans brutal upbringing in America. The Nigel Benn chapters are pretty good ad well.

I think we gotta give up eith Carbs this season, star again nextt, he just destroys any momentum at the moment.

Too right, as I said in my previous post an an absolutely insane decision. One boke makes 97 no, the game ould have gone into a fourth day, and not even 40 wickets fell in three Days! Mental. There has to be more to this than meets the eye. I fear that Rob Bransgrove (biggest Hants legend in last 40 year other than Malcolm Marshall imo) has probably rubbed someone up the wrong way. Absolute travesty! 8 points or not we were going down anyway, but it's the repurcussions for county cricket that bothers me. Ok i'm a massive optimist when it comes to Hants....but even I accept we could be screwed here!

I dunno if we can squeeze a 200 lead then it's game on.

Although odds-on we will probably go down thiis season, in 30 years of supprting Hants this has to be the best crop of young players. Bates, Briggs, Woods, Vince, Dawson, Howell, there may even be others coming through. Hope we can keek em all. It's not all doom and gloom.
