I'm not sure if I quite agree, if anything we have got better towards the end of the season.we've won 3 of our last 5 games I think, so i'm not sure if we are demoralised Definately agree we need changes. I would also query why in the ;ast 3 seasons we always start so badly, is there something wrong with our preparation pre-season? I don't know but the same thing is happening eash year. Champions Div 2 next year no sweat.

Yeah particlarly as i forgot to mention that Worcs have to lose.

This ain't over yet, but it's gonna be like threading a camel through the eye of a needle. First we have to score 350 runs tomorrow within 90 overs, if we manage that the game would normally be dead..but Warwickshire may well have to win this one and could end up setting us say 200 in 50 overs. I admit this is all a bit of a long-shot.......but it's the only shot we've got.

To be honest if we stayed up it would just paper over the cracks, we would try and limp on another year with middling over-age pro's. Going down MAY be a blessing. Carberry,Adams & Katich are going to all score for fun in that league. The bowling is a concern, but if Ali is fit we will come straight back up. Lets be honest we are not a division one team at the moment.

Yep,god knows,he seems a natural choice. I've got no problem with us signing Katich I think he would score 1200 plus in a season, but i don't want to see him as captain, and for all i know he may be the best county captain in the world, but i would love adams to be captain for the next 5 years.

Yeah not looking good, we could squeak it but, we would probably have to get max points and hope Worcester go into melt-down. I think we deserve to go down. I think we have the lowest bonus points in the league which is normally a pretty good indication of how things have gone in a season. cork has got the spanish archer today, and in retrospect making him captain in the Championship msy not have been the best decision we ever made, but he's been pretty good for three years.

The only good thing is tha Lancashire need to win this one, maybye they'll set us 300 in 60 overs,thats the only chance we've got. It's not over yet.

If we hadn't been deducted 8 points for a game that would have lasted 4 days & Worcester had been deductet 8 points for a game that lasted a day and 3/4s then there would be 3 points between us. What a ****ing joke.

Worcester have won, sussex not doing too well so we could end up reeling them in, I think we've gotta win the last 3 games, pretty tough, but it's been a good end to season. Mascherenas such a great player, always pops up with wickets. Over 400 for Hants at an average of 28. Really underated, do not how much longer he can go on for though.

Yeah noone gave two Shiny ****s when Fuller,Delap,Dyer,Davies left but they all did pretty well in the premiership. Noone gave a flying fig when we signed Marsden, he was the don. Everyone creamed themselves over Skacel and he was donkey balls. Yep got to agree with myself on all of the above.

Not a bad looking side...but the bowling really lacks penetration. I've got no problem with us signing Katich as he's world class, i reckon he could easily score 1500 in a season, would much prefer Adams as captain, but our pace attack really concerns me, a fully fit Ali to replace Griffiths and suddenly it looks better...but will he ever be fit?

It's more likely because there's nothing resting on this match. I've been carping on about us not selecting our young players for ages, although that's not to say we should just pick them for the sake of it, they have to be good enough. I think Wood, briggs and Bates should be playing every championship game when there available. The one i'm concerned about is Dawson, it seems like his confidence is going each season, not bad this year but he's really got to push on. Bottom line is I think we are a division two side at the moment, but i'm really optimistic for the future. Financially though, I haven't got a clue where we stand.

I take your point that Ali,De Wet, Jones & Myburgh have hardly played this season..but I spose the obvious next question is wy did we bother to sign all four of them..they don't ever play. Three out of those four all seemed unnecessary signings at the time, and thats not hindsight I think most people on this board would have questioned these signings at the time, Ali ok he looked quality, byt he's just injured all the time. I am really positive about Hants future though, brilliant young talent, just be brave Hampshire and play em. I also think we could still win tomorrow.

Yeah, totally agree, it's not just that our young players are 'promising' but they are really bloody good. Look at Wood, Bates & Briggs, these guys should be nailed on in the first team. Hampshire have really let the fans down by not putting faith in them every game, and instead clogging the team up with a write punch of allsorts. Get rid of Cork, Ali, Jones, Pothas, De Wet, Mybergh possibly even Ervine (not Sure). I think we have the makings of a brilliant young team.

I hate to say this but even if we set them a total of 150 and won, we will probably get docked points again, as these are lower scores than the game we got penalised for last time. It's not the pitch' were just **** a batting!

Hey c'mon,remember the last two games, we pulled results out of the bag both times..we can still win this,...did America surrender after Germany bombed Pearl Harbour?...did they ****, they rolled up there sleeves and kicked some ass!

Yeah quite agree, I went on a massive rant about those 8 points about three pages ago, still one of the most baffling things i've witnessed in 30 years of supporting Hants. There is a difference between a poor pitch and players who just can't play spin. Hopefully we beat Worcester and kick-on from there. Still think this is the best crop of young Hants players for 30 years so there is hope!

Our success seems to coincide with Corky not playing. He's a legend but not a 4 day captain am I the only one who's heard he's off to Essex next year?
