It does also rather dispel the theory that all we care about is 20/20. I don't think many would argue that Briggs is in the top 3 English 20/20 spinners in the county (arguably the best ) & we have chosen to release him. Good luck to him. I agree apparently we have some good spinners in the background. I was lucky enough to see Mason Crane's 2 hour spell against Notts this year and he looked fantastic.

Doesn't really surprise me, but in a way it's a real shame. Only 3 months ago I heard Swann say he still thinks he could be an England bowler, but probably like most of us i'm no longer convinced. Will be interesting to see what impact this has on our 20/20 fortunes, as I think he has been a major part of our 6 final days on the trot success.

Will Adams be staying? Too be honest I think most of us thought the game was up about a month ago, but he's picked up in the last few games his one day form hasn't been bad either. If he stays cool, if he goes it frees up a place for someone else. Any ideas?

I dunno statistically very few teams chase 300 with success in a four day game, I think it was a pretty good decision..we just stuffed it up!. The Somerset first innings was a shambles. I wouldn't focus too much on the Yorkshire game..who knows we may still stay up!

I would actually argue that it isn't the Yorkshire game that may send us down...but the fact we played like bell-ends for the first half of the season.

To honest if you are getting Yorkshire to forfeit an innings (bear in mind they didn't need to) they are only going to do it if there is a realistic chance they could win, if we sent them 360 in 70 overs they probably would have not agreed to forfeit.. I think the right decision was made by both teams, we just weren't good enough.

I came to post the same thing. I'll never forget the game at the Agesa bowl about 5 years ago when all three results were possible off the last ball of a four day game, it ended in a draw, and Hampshire got docked points for having a pitch that took too much spin!! I agree anything over 150 will be tough BTW.

Could be true. If i'm honest I'm surprised that we can offer big wages I just presume (and again this is just a gut feeling) that we are not in great financial position. Although we must have so many revenue streams by now (Hotels.....Gigs..I also believe we stage cricket matches) I could be wrong.

i was thinking Ward-Prowse, Targett & Davis are playing like drains, could it be because no one has come in for them? I know what I'm like at work when people are being transferred to better sections within my office & i'm ignored it's pretty demotivating. Why should it be different for footballers.
