  1. The poster said Man Utd pay off his contract. Your right Che cannot just forgoe the last year of his contract even if he waived his wages...but Saints could say ‘you’ve got one year left, here’s the 60k a week we owe you ( or whatever it is) off you go, which is what the poster was suggesting Man Utd might do.
  2. You know things are bad when our crumb of comfort is a season we came 9th! 😊
  3. When your finest achievement so far is ‘taking the heat off Ali Dia’ then you can assume it’s not been a great debut.
  4. We rated last years at 8.8... we’ve had four answers above which gives us an average of 8.2.....that’s not encouraging.
  5. Does anyone remember when we collectively gave last years transfer window 8.8 out of ten ‘Just incredible’ was a phrase frequently used.
  6. Get relegated with 28 points...sell half of that team for £155 Million. This seems fundamentally wrong. 😂
  7. I thought we’d got rid of the goal music last season....& then it dawned on me....
  8. Well I guess we know where the line in the sand once someone signs him. I think we are following the laws of the land..there’s no law that says you have to keep a football player who you find morally repulsive, there may be an issue if under contract..but then Mason can seek legal advise if he wants to challenge that. I’m not sure what the problem is here? Manchester United no longer want Mason Greenwood for obvious reasons..Mason Greenwood appears to have accepted that..& currently no one has stepped in for him. I’m sure like the examples you use above, after a period he probably will play for someone. You mention his partner..well she may be just as bad as him..but she’s not the issue here so it doesn’t matter. I’m guessing you would be supportive of Southampton signing him? I personally wouldn’t, but that comes down to each individuals moral compass. You appear to be be a believer in giving him an immediate second chance which is actually admiral..I would be happy to see him never play football again. But I suspect many people would side with you.

    Che Adams

Probably by not paying 7M up front for players like Adams.
  10. We desperately need to get a new face in on Tuba before the window closes.
  11. Not really. You can have a tactic where you intend to score 2 or 3 (some teams even aim to score 9) more goals than the opposition, rather than just 1.
  12. Wheels have come off.
  13. Patrick cagoule & Farah action slacks.
  14. I’m still pissed of Charlie Wayman abandoned us for Preston.
  15. To become an English professional football in the Premier League you have to defy the odds, you have to be insanely driven & talented. How many English players start on Saturday? Less than a hundred? If Ward-Prowse was of the mentality to stay at Southampton in the championship at 29 years old he probably would have never succeeded in the first place.
  16. Is that not valid?. Is it not important for him to play in the premier league to increase his England chances?
  17. Pantomime seasons started early this year.
  18. Wheels have fallen off.
  19. Have we got a plan B?
  20. You don’t. It stays as it was when the rain comes, but once say 7 wickets are down your all out. It’s not perfect, but I think the current system is flawed. If you can go from needing 170 to 110...but still having 9 wickets, it’s a license to go berzerk, it sort of counteracts the slightly increased run rate.
  21. I’m loathe to criticise DL , but I think it is slightly flawed. To get to needing 110 off 12 Essex would normally probably have lost 2/3 wickets. Therefore when it restarted Essex could have 21 for 3 , they can bat their normal batsmen, but once they’ve lost 7 wickets essentially there innings ends. I think it is a flaw, the target can reduce by half, but the amount of wickets left for the chasing team stays the same. When Essex were 54-4 today, if that had been called 54-6 mentally that would effect you. It just seems to me something that needs tweaking.
  22. Everyone body taking the piss..but this is the forum that gave last years pre season transfer window a score of 8.6 out of ten.
  23. This is our generations ‘Keegan at the Potters Heron’ moment.
  24. The Spirit of Cricket should probably be put to bed. If you Mankad someone it’s seen as against the ‘Spirit Of Cricket’..but what about the batsmen who was trying to steal a few yards by not staying in his crease (which he or she is free to do by the way..but the bowler is also free to whip the bails off)
  25. My own view is that Bairstow was incredibly sloppy got what he deserved & actually seemed symptomatic of England’s pretty laid back approach to this series, which a few commentators have touched on. My biggest concern is that it’s probably in England’s interest to keep this story running as it masks the fact, we won the toss in cloudy conditions, put them in & bowled like drains. We were them 181-1, probably there biggest day 5 wicket taking threat limped out of the series, & we proceed to bat like morons. Hopefully this is the kick up the arse they so clearly needed.
