Well, I suppose in a way that's not my concern. I use about 15/20 other football forums, and none of them ask me to pay. So rightly or wrongly those forums have decided not to ask me to pay. They are no better or worse than this forum, so as a consumer five pounds may be minimal...but why am I going to pay it when I can get the exact same for free from multiple other forums?. I'm not saying this forum shouldn't charge btw..that's their prerogative..but as a consumer you can see why I would't be motivated to pay a fiver, when other sites have chosen to offer the same service for free. I'm just trying to add a constructive comment as to why this site may not be attracting many new members really, i'm not after a tear up

Yeah, but that's not really how life on the internet works. It could be £5.00..it could be £55.00..you're hardly going to miss either. over the course of a year But I suppose people perceptions are that signing up to an internet football forum would be free, once you start asking for cash, then a lot of people are just going to think forget it. Do many other forums charge? (genuine question, I've never come across one)

Do you still have to pay a tenner to have unlimited posts on here? That could explain it. Seems a bit of a joke to be honest.

I remember in the early 90's they sold these amazing 70's style European football Shirts . I bought the Roma one made of cotton. It was during the Brit-pop era when people were wearing sportswear to clubs. Everyone used to F*cking love this shirt & ask if they could borrow it, even bloody girls used to ask me where I got it. Great memories of that shop.

Yep. The big clubs are owned by foreign owners. 90% of the players are foreign, the majority of the fans are foreign....why would you need to play in England?

Wayne Rooney coming out of retirement to get his 120th England Cap in a game in aid of the 'Wayne Rooney Foundation' against the USA seems a move totally in-step with modern football. I actually find it quite difficult to agree with this....but then you're always going to be on the back-foot dismissing it as it's a charity event.

In a weird way football forums like this are everything that is wrong with modern football. The whining, the sense of entitlement, the tantrums when we're not winning, the desire that the Chairman makes a 'statement of intent' (i didn't even know who the chairman was in the 80's/90's) Don't get me wrong supporting Saint's in the nineties was fairly crap, but supporter forums seems to add another layer of misery...and yet here I am. **** me! I'm the problem!

Yeah, just to echo what's been said by a few above, 'Modern football' always seems to be crap at the same time we are. Normally followed by the desire for players who show 'Passion' & 'Want to play for the shirt'.
