Would be interesting to get a view, I’m hoping they are being ultra cautious.

The Turner situation concerns me. You’ve got an ageing bowling line up & you’re not putting what I consider one of the most exciting young bowling prospects in world cricket in the squad. I think that points to one thing, they must have serious concerns over his back. He’s 23 now, and taken 10 wickets at 10 a piece...why would you not even put him in the squad?

Hopefully pay as you play.

Where did it all go wrong for Romeu?
-
Yeah if you just search ‘Hampshire Cricket’ on you tube it will be on.

Adam the Lama to return to Saints? Is this true?

Pay as you play please. -
Yeah, that’s not bad!, he got a few to rip. Everyone says playing in May & September means England won’t be able to produce spinners..he’s proving them wrong. I really hope he’s not just on a hot streak, but he’s always taken wickets when they’ve thrown him on for the last three years. It’s interesting.
-
Yes that’s interesting. Based on his batting the club would probably be looking to release him at some point, but he’s fast becoming a crucial member of the team. He’s in an interesting position.

Organ is a bit of an enigma. His role was to be a batsmen who bowls a bit. He’s now taken 55 wickets at an average of 25. In my life as a Hampshire fan I don’t think any of our spinners have achieved an average that low for their first 50 wickets. Cowley,Maru,Udal,Briggs,Crane ..I think even Warney averaged around 26. I’m starting to wonder if he’s going to become a front line spinner?

I’m sorry David 😢

To the tune of Paul Johnson’s 1999 House Classic ‘Get Get Down’. ’Downes’ ‘Downes’ Downes’ Downes’ ’Downes ‘’Downes’ ‘Downes’ ‘’Downes’ ‘’Downes’ ‘’Downes’ ‘Downes’ ‘Downes’

Let’s hope my theory is correct! Taking spin, keeping low & Prest injured...should just sneak it! 😊
-
60/40 in Notts favour Imo Don’t fancy batting last on this. Lead of over 215 & we’re done I reckon.
-
I guarantee that the clubs won’t vote to scrap it...the fact only Wolves have stepped forward tells you all you need to know.

Another draw. This season has been a joke. Difficult to draw people away from the 20/20 & The Hundred when shit like this is being served up week after week. Cricket is designed to fail on pitches like this. Sort it out Ha shire..I don’t give a stuff about any possible points deductions...this is tripe. Pitches are too safe, no one wants to watch this crap.

Not the worst score prediction by me! 😊
-
My only hope is that they are thinking this is a flat track, don’t risk him if he’s just going to be toiling all day....but as I said in my post above it concerns me.
-
The Turner situation does concern me. He’s clearly one of the most promising young bowling talents in world cricket, (reminds me of Glenn Mcgrath) He’s young , tall & already suffering injury problems. We’re struggling, yet we aren’t putting him straight back in the team...It just makes me wonder if Hampshire have their own concerns. Anyway we’re batting, hot day..weeks rest..330-4 at the end of the day. 😊

Ironically considering the opening post I was quite happy with the prices. The club has a balancing act. Don’t exploit the fans...but use the opportunity to make a few quid. I think they got it right this time. 😊

Surely ‘as close to a dead rubber as you can get’ would actually be a dead rubber? Ie It would be mathematically impossible for Leeds to come second.

This teams on life support. Can score runs, can’t bowl our overs quick enough, can’t take wickets. Reboot urgently needed. Vince has got to get his act together, a county batting average of 39 is about 5 less than it should be. He’s a far more talented player than Carberry, but Carbs had the fortitude. Needs to take a look at himself.
-
I can live with that if it means Surrey don’t get a win 😂
-
Good news, no play before lunch. 😊

We’re very much on the backfoot here.

Having slept on it I’ve awoken with a new found sense of vigour.
