  1. Aww! I was hoping for the large hadron collider.
  2. Heisenberg - in principle, I understand your uncertainty!
  3. He paints an interesting picture but with no references or direct quotes there is no way of knowing how close to the truth he is. Perhaps he does take a commission from third parties with a vested interest. Or perhaps he is just showing how financially prudent the current board is.
  4. ...and hot favourites to sign Ron Vlaar and Leroy Fer, but Theo Walcott 16/1?
  5. What he means is "If only I'd bought more players from SFC..."
  6. "If Southampton regress, though, it’s worth remembering it’s not because they sold their best players, it’s because after they did, they didn’t know what to do next." Perhaps the most telling quote from all the guff in the press. However, we do seem to have the right man in the right place with Koeman. Another interesting season ahead...
  7. Is this the point where NC gallops over the horizon leading the cavalry to save Saints ...again?
  8. The start of the season is three weeks away, the close of the transfer window even more distant - why are so many ready to pass judgement now? Ronald Koeman has a proven history and there are a lot of games to come between now and next May. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Bill Shankly was wrong, football is not more important than life or death.
  9. So only pessimists can be true supporters? "Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." 10. RK was brought in to do a job and he seems unperturbed by the transfers out. He said there were players coming in so we just have to trust his judgement. If we do no worse than our first season back and are in a good position financially then I'll be happy. Surely Koeman must be aiming to repeat his Dutch League successes here. Keep the faith!
  11. You are obviously tired and emotional and missed the other threads. Time to go to sleep... BTW 38 games will determine if we deserve to stay up.
  12. Yeah but Liverpool capitulated when enough dosh was offered. Sadly we cannot offer enough money to keep a number of players but SFC will still be here next month and for the foreseeable future and we will still be supporting them.
  13. Is your day job writing for Mills & Boon?
  14. And we had a manager who couldn't wait to move to a bigger money offer rather than finish the "project".
  15. You aren't seriously telling me that if the likes of Daniel levy was saints chairman that we would have lost as many players as we have this year? That comes close in my book!
  16. Ha ! don't let a few fact get in the way of the d*cks waving!
  17. I used to think this forum was the perfect platform for a bunch of d*ck wavers, now I realise it is a good platform for a bunch of d*cks to wave at each other! The facts are we have sold three, bought two and the two seem promising. We have a new manager who is actively pursuing new targets. Why are so many people passing judgement now? None of us knows exactly what is going on with regard to transfers (even Guan 2.0 and K.billy's Supersound I suspect) and even if they did, the outcome is not exactly certain. I shall reserve judgement until I see the team we play at Anfield and I I'll probably review it again when the transfer window shuts. I would suggest that everyone on here does that but then they would have to stop waving their d*cks and that would never do!
  18. Nothing definite yet, but it could have been where the rumour started. Guan said our CB target had changed, could have been Caulker.
  19. Is it possible he has been offered in part-exchange for Steven Caulker?
  20. Paul Gilchrist had an impressive barnet, as I recall, but that was a few years ago...
  21. Nice rant Billy, but there's little point in taking out on poor old Roy, he is just fulfilling his employer's wishes, as would any replacement. The FA is under the spell of the Premier League and couldn't possibly do anything to upset it or its members. They are all sucking at the tit of the cash cow that is modern football. Nobody really cares about the National team except for the fans and they don't pay for a Sky subscription to watch England!
  22. I live in hope that this is true. Patience required, I guess.
  23. Tapping up has been going on for as long as contracts have existed. I think it's entirely possible that a year ago Poch said to Lovren something like "Do well for us, get yourself in the spotlight and your dreams may come true." 12 month later, step forward the agents of THFC with a generous offer... Maybe SFC has just been a stepping stone for both of them.
  24. Rumours, eh, can't believe a word... Or should that be - Contracts, eh, can't believe a word...
  25. Flaming a mod, that's brave...
