  1. I think it's a pretty good measure of current form rather than a predictor of the final table.
  2. Perhaps we should be worried about this, too: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southamptons--dani-osvaldo-considering-2343956 But then again, it's old news, much like the Gaston comments.
  3. Such is life all too often, sadly.
  4. It must be great to have your boss apparently right behind you when in fact he's stood there p*ssing down the back of your leg.
  5. Better still, let's change the manager every time we lose - that'll keep people on their toes!
  6. Good luck and thanks for being there on the journey - you deserve, and should get, more game time.
  7. Long ball and hoof ball are two different things. To me, it certainly didn't look like hoof ball last Saturday.
  8. He's got the first token of our love - the watch!
  9. Jol, Di Canio and Mackay are the ones most at risk in my view as the club owners are not likely to tolerate failure. If any of them start losing more than they win they could be out. Pardew might might leave "by mutual consent" if tonight's showing is repeated too often. I'd like to see Saints give Sunderland a tonking just to turn up the heat a little.
  10. Moot point, as we have our three transfer targets. Now it is about choosing the best line-up for each game. I think Jos, Jose, Maya and Lovren will all get a good few games this year - we just have to trust MP's choices for each game.
  11. According to NBC Sports - 'Seems like he likes Pochettino… “At times you want to kill him simply because he makes you suffer like a dog. But in the end you get the right results.”
  12. I think this is a fair assessment of the likelihood of a Lukaku transfer: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1701114-chelsea-transfer-rumours-romelu-lukaku-must-be-considered-untouchable
  13. Ha, I was a child the last time I wore a cotton Saints shirt, and that was a long time ago! Although I love the stripes I can't get too worked up about the changes. Grand Prix fans will know. If you support a team, that doesn't change just because the colour of the car changes. I was a Lotus fan. I can just about remember plain green, I wore Gold Leaf colours and JPS colours. I still supported them with Camel colours (I didn't wear them because I was old enough then to realise they were just promoting fags). I did, however, stop supporting them when the team ceased to have any link at all with Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman despite holding Kimi Raikkonen in high regard. My point is, I still support Saints irrespective of the colours they play in. If they became a franchise and move to a new location, that would end. I don't think that is likely. BTW, I really do not like the new kit, I would rather wear an old Xerox shirt.
  14. To quote Homer Simpson, "It's suckier than a very sucky thing." For me it's just a poor design and it's hardly distinctive or likely to set us apart. Looking at the poll results so far, I only hope the Adidas deal is worth significant money and it is not dependent on shirt sales!
  15. Rudolph Dassler must be turning in his grave at this. At least our kit will be from the company that his brother founded and, to my knowledge, Adidas have never produced anything quite so cheap looking! Promotion apart, my Bluebirds supporting in-laws have had a tough time lately.
  16. He headed the winner on my first visit to the Dell as a boy. That memory will be with me for ever, thank you Ron, RIP.
  17. It would make a cynic wonder if our spineless FA is just pandering to the "glamour" clubs so they can justify their sometimes ridiculous spending on players and help keep the player values up.
  18. I love the optimism, but the chance remains somewhere between slim and none. However, if the trust were to authorise a spending spree of Jack Walker proportions...
  19. The five year plan was supported by Markus wholeheartedly and, presumably, accepted by the trust without modification following his death. We are now a little ahead of the curve and perhaps NC wants to advance things and spend rather more than was in the plan to which the trust are saying no. Storm in a teacup - I hope so. Will a compromise be reached - I think so. It wouldn't be so bad if NC had to modify his management style here and there to get what he wants.
  20. At the moment, West Ham are to football what today's weather is to a beach holiday, so I'll take a point. It just seems a bit disappointing in the light of recent results but 10 points from the next four would be pretty handy!
  21. "Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, o, Principessa, nella tua fredda stanza, guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore e di speranza."
  22. Whatever the future holds for the club, this was a very, very shabby way to treat a decent, honourable and very successful manager. The whole episode has done a great deal of damage to SFC's reputation. If it was Cortese's avowed intention to appoint Pochettino, would it not have been possible to pay him a retainer and tell him to go away and watch the Premier League, study the squad and learn some English and then do the swap in, say, June. IMHO, if this had happened, I think the fanbase would have reacted better, NA could have left with a little more dignity, the club would not get the slating it is now from journos, pundits and even SAF and NC would not look as big a tosspot as he does now. Pochettino would even have a little time to get to know the players and he might even have had some say in picking the first team!
  23. Let's just hope Pochettino doesn't have the same effect here as Sparky had at QPR!
  24. Yeah, apparently the chairman's name is really Corteski (Or was it Cortesovich?)
  25. Are you Mauricio?
